After making the GF surely Sebas are no longer deemed a ‘struggling club’ so should be back on the same points as every other club next year. Seems fair.
Congrats to East, hard to go back to back

East just too good in the end yesterday, took more of their chances than sebas.

Micka clearly BOG, had a mountain of it. McQueen, Brown also good. And I thought Cassidy, Lockyer, Papst & Wilkinson were sebas best.

Thoolen won the hit outs but east mauled them in the clearances/stoppages. Especially early.

Shame the weather took abit away from the spectacle/crowd

I thought the young East ruck Martin handled Thoolen pretty well. As you say, Thoolen probably had more hit outs, but rarely to advantage. Martin clearly better around the ground

Rippon will be 5 points surely.
I assume sebas will have their points cut back to 43 next season. They used 44/48 in the grand final. Goodes retiring frees up 3 points.

Don't forget anybody above one point, such as Kiel, Thoolen, Keeble etc will all drop a point also.

But if he played 40 junior games he will be a 1 pointer then yeah? Or have I got my wires crossed?
If he’s going to Sebas and has never played for them before he will be a minimum 5 points. Sebas should be on 43 points next year like every other team.

I agree 100% Slammer, that they should be pulled back to 43-points but that wont happen. At best it'll come back to 45 because they'll argue that 'over recent years they haven't had the volume of juniors coming through u15, u17 and u19 that most other BFL clubs have had'. Therefore they'll need to keep their cheque book open to pay 8 to 10 ex-vfl players to keep them strong enough to compete.

Melton had their points reduced to the level of everyone else after they made the GF, should happen with Sebas too.

Well we had to recruit 8-10 vfl players to bring us up the ladder you don’t recruit central highlands or Maryborough Castlemaine players.. and we should be able to pay them with the gate takings, plus there not on as much as you think, they all have taken pay cuts to get more quality in. And for the junior side players are coming next year. And for senior/reserves players are coming left right and centre.

Might as well call off the 2020 season then Behind the Sheds?
Do you want the League to wait until September to give Sebas the premiership cup or should we do it now 🙄
Juniors falling out of the sky looking to join the club, more Seniors than you know what to do with and a core group of VFL amateur players. Life is golden in Ballarat South.

Apparently Nick and Brian Graham have signed at West Footscray in the WRFL with Nick to be co-coach. Massive loss for Darley if true, especially with Scotland leaving.

Yes you are right, the VFL players are better than the CHFL players to help you get up the ladder. Think the point is, now you are up the ladder, you have to play on an even playing field to everyone else, so the points should come back to the level everyone else is playing with.

It’s true has just been announced on their Facebook page massive loss for Darley

Just jealous that’s all it is. About time sebas had a bit of luck. Every other club have ex vfl players ex afl players why can’t we??

yeah no doubt points should be brought back that is fair, But we done a good effort with no junior talent or depth like other clubs have

Done a good job so far to get off the bottom, but make sure you get your juniors and club finances in order cos when the money runs out, you don’t want to nose dive straight back to where you’ve come from

That's really the difference between well run clubs & the battlers - good management. Using Darley as an example: they've lost three prime movers from their lineup but it's doubtful that anyone expects them to fall in a screaming heap, as they've done a great job of getting games into the next generation which should hold them in good stead going forward.

Yep, well run club who from memory has only missed finals twice in 22 years in the BFL. Big losses the brothers, but they always seem to replace players. Still to announce their new coach.
