Hey mate, not sure Pears is heading to Melton Sth as I'm hearing his headed to Abers..
Wouldn't of thought so. Smart people making smart decisions. All above board. But people will think what they wantwill be the first club in vic country done for salary cap rorting
My thoughts are Melton should have only 2 teams. One in the BFL and one in the RDFL. With the way business and other things are headed these days I don't think Melton is able to handle 2 teams in the BFL. I would prefer 1 competitive team in that area rather than 2 struggling to play finals. Even council $$ should be towards 1 big facility. Maybe keep 2 junior clubs but only 1 senior club. Let's keep in mind Melton's population, although large in numbers is not a fluent area such as some others.
Personally I'm excited for Melton Sth to have some success after really struggling over previous years. But it's obviously on the back of money from GA..
I still find it hard to see Melton going forward due to there ground being out of town. No pubs close by and not sure there is public transport out there either. Excellent surface and some really good history but that was years ago..
I know Bacchus Marsh has 2 sides but think the area of Darly is building faster than Melton near McPherson Park as you can tell by comparing sponsorship dollars of Darly v Melton.
Who is GA? Gary Ablett?

Too bad you only have 48 points and not 50Woweeeeeee what a weekend for the mighty Panthers! These blokes sure know how to close a deal.
Nick Kommer - what a recruit. Gotta be favourite for the Henderson Medal.
Melton South, single-handedly bringing up the standard of the BFL.
And my man at the Panthers tells me there are 2 more ex-AFL blokes that have apparently agreed and will be announced shortly. And we are done. 50 pts.
This could be the greatest turnaround in footy history.

I think you'll find its 50 for the panthers GracelandToo bad you only have 48 points and not 50
No it's 48, perhaps you should checkI think you'll find its 50 for the panthers Graceland
The people investigating are smarter than Souths smart peopleWouldn't of thought so. Smart people making smart decisions. All above board. But people will think what they want

But South are not a battling club, they have signed multiple former AFL players and are paying $300k. That does not say battling to me.We received a concession as they were a battling club...

Can 100% guarantee that it has been finalised that both Sebas and South are now on 48 pointsSouth and Sebas were both given 50 points by AFL Goldfields but AFL Victoria rules state that 48 is the maximum so they have to sign off on it. Don't know if it's been finalised yet.

It was AFL Vic that knocked back goldfields requests for 50 points the only team that has 50 is Skipton in the Central HighlandsOk cool, that's good. No point setting a limit if they keep changing it. I think Goldfields set quite a few CHFL, MCDFL & RDFL teams at 50 as well so I would assume they've been canned as well.
300k. Gee your info is horrible. Why talk shit when you know nothing..But South are not a battling club, they have signed multiple former AFL players and are paying $300k. That does not say battling to me.
Those were vastly different times with no salary cap or points system.300k. Gee your info is horrible. Why talk shit when you know nothing..
Have you seen our history over the past 4 years. To me that's struggling
And why bag sth for going out and getting some quality into the club.
No one cared when darley recruited a Brett cook or Keenan Reynolds or Melton got Cullen del re shanks normington button or sunbury with all the players they got over the years. . At the time they had good networking and people at the club. Fortunately it has happened to sth and everyone wants to start rumors and bag the joint..
Well the hard work is just about to start and hopefully can be rewarded on and off the field.
Well it is so thanksThose were vastly different times with no salary cap or points system.
It might not be $300k but the maths don't add up. If it's all above board then good luck to you.
I would be assuming that a few of these players or family members may have gained employment thru club contacts. Similar to ammo recruiting.Well it is so thanks

Why is paying for someone's tertiary studies different from paying cash, surely all of that is included in the cap. Not 100% all over the rules, but surely that is a no brainer.Well said. Employment options, business networks and paid tertiary opportunities are all lateral thinking Amateur footy style thinking.
Good luck to South for looking to change immediate on-field outcomes in relation to winning some games. The trick will be changing the overall culture of the club as that takes time!
Someone coming in and saying 'we have changed the culture' doesn't stack up until you review the performance in 5 years time and can visibly see strong Junior and netball programs, as well as the senior footy team. That is what makes a club!! Hopefully Sth will still be thereabouts in 5 years and competitive in the league with the club being an important hub within the community.
All that said, it's a positive start from the Sth boys.

They won't be doing it anymore I would assumeIt isn't, but clubs do it. Amateur footy were doing it for years pre-salary cap and points.
'So son, a Masters, or honours and then your Doctorate?' ....
