I never shoot South down.
Either not much going on or have learnt from last year to keep a lid on things during preseason.

Looks like many teams improving so far, good signs for the league.
 
So all of a sudden Sebas have pulled their finger out and found some big bucks among their supporters and sponsors. The talk on their latest big signing is he was chased by most Ballarat clubs and went to the highest bidder and the bid was very HIGH!
It seems the salary cap is irrelevant in the BFNL, South and Darley must have been close to the limit the last two years and will be again 2018 along with Sebas and probably many others. Here's an idea if the BFNL know what each club has spent then why don't they publish each clubs figure. Would certainly make for interesting reading, may even act as incentive for other clubs to increase revenue, setting a benchmark for what is needed to be successful.

That is not true at all, sebas are not offering the biggest bucks at all, instead of paying someone 1600 which I heard Ballarat did, instead they offered that player half of that and pay the other half to get another vfl player instead.

They have been throwing money around for years and no one has came it’s all through Tony Lockyer being mates with them that’s it.

Can’t speak for many clubs but I know Marsh and Darley have more locals on base payments than they do recruits. If you have that mix it is easy to stay under the cap.
Sebas need to improve significantly this year or they will be shipped off to the CHFL. That’s why they are having a crack.

Cassidy over a grand at Sebas plus a sign on. Ballarat could not even get half way there apparently so I can’t see what the 1600 you are talking about. Hausler sign on and a lot as well. Redan didn’t get chance to speak apparently. Look good on sebas, they will be competitive and could do anything.

I hope the part about sign on fee is not right as they are not allowed under the new salary cap,rules

Geez that's a big call. Didn't have jarrah and angwin,lafranchi and there could have been another. But they lost the 2nd semi by 98 and the granny by 50 and if the wind hadn't of been so bad could have been a bigger blowout. Jarrah and angwin very good players but they lost because of injuries and suspensions is a big call. Another recruit is Harrison King from werribee

Yeah may have gone too far with that, but would have made it more interesting.
Darley just got their act together at the right time.
Looks like a few sour grapes up Ballarat way with Sebas recruiting big. If they were all signing at lakers, Redan or North, Darley and Marsh would have some competition. But don’t think Sebas can improve that much to challenge.

1000 reasons why Owens signed at the Marsh. Woodend tried pull one over him by getting him to sign for way unders.

Same thing with Cassidy, Ballarat offered him $400 then sook when he signs elsewhere. Copped there right whack i reckon. Fancy offering last years Nth Ballarat VFL B&F $400 a game. When will clubs realise blokes will play at there junior/home club for unders, but don't insult them with ridiculous offers.

Denham to Melton is interesting. Wasn't there an incident after a game at Maccy Park a few years ago?
