How has Benny Sortino been going this year. Big boy who competes well but doesn't take many marks and only really a ruckman. Bit of your old school ruckman type. Decent player though..
Ben is a huge help in a very inexperienced team, his leadership at training & out on the ground is very important, he is a great role model & Obviously he can play the game. A great get for South.

Just wondering if anybody could tell me how Jarrah Maksymow looked playing for Bacchus Marsh today. Conditions probably not the best for him to really show his talants but would be good to know how he went. Cheers

Anyone on here like to comment on the weekends game?

Attended the Ballarat v Redan game at Alfredton Rec. - Redan may have won by 31 points, but the Swans looked good in the first half (mabey due to the greasy conditions early on). Certainly an improvement on their previous few games. Don't see us making finals this season without a bigger improvement.

Melton were seriously depleted on the weekend. Most of the top end talent is injured, and with no VFL or Jets players, means their depth is really tested. They rolled over after half time.
16 goals to zero after half time. How long are they expected to be depleted? I thought they could play finals.

Well previous results would tell you that they are thereabouts (10 goal wins over South and Sebas, 20 point win over E.P, 20 point losses to Sunbury and Bacchus) -I'd put the weekend's result down to very limited availability, and then disinterest after half time. To North's credit, they work very hard and set up structurally well, even after the guns they have lost from last year.

The change in coach and turnover of players has really reinvigorated the club, with a few of the younger boys embracing the opportunity.

Lucas Anderson is a massive out for the Lakers, hopefully the poor blokes knee heals quickly.

Never like to see players getting serious injuries good luck to Lucas on a speedy recovery, should be a cracking game at Wendouree on Saturday both teams are in great form

Won't hear a bad word from me about my coach.
Honestly though, I may have missed some exchanges but I didn't think it was any different to most weeks.

Can Bacchus Marsh now be considered serious premiership contenders have now beaten quality opposition and maybe should have beaten Lakers if not for pòor kicking who are the main contenders?

"Should have" "Could have" "Would have". Any club using these phrases to explain away defeat has got no hope. While Bacchus Marsh "maybe should have" won, Lakers "did".

On exposed form so far I believe there are only two chances, Lakers and Marsh.

Marsh are only a chance at full strength though, any injuries to key players and they will struggle to beat Lakers and Redan in finals.

Anyone know the current status of Lakers and Redan? Do they have many out at the moment, including Roosters players that can drop back in September?

Wouldn't write off North or even Darley just yet. Doubt Redan have the cattle this year.

Sebas knocked off Darley, I'm not sure many would have tipped that.

Sebastopol deserved their win, Darley will rue kicking 2 goals 18 behinds after quarter time. Plus incurred a few injuries I hear, looks like season over.
Redan will gain some momentum heading towards the end of the year. Marsh look like they are just not up to top two Ballarat teams just yet.

Only caught the second half of Ballarat v Melton today...Ballarat down 29 pts at half time, but managed to reduce it to 15 by full time...Ballarat v Nth City next week could be ugly....anybody attend Sebas v Darley???...was it just inaccurate kicking from Darley???

That's disappointing for them, hopefully their injuries aren't too severe.

Seen Urch involved in an incident in the EDFL over the weekend. Trouble seems to follow this guy as I'm sure I read about him on this forum. He didn't instigate the initial scuffle but went in and started it again when it was almost finished. Not a great look coming in on someone already on the ground. However after the incident and players remonstrating, he didn't seem to go near the ball..
