I dont know how this became about Melton Centrals , they have played Finals and no havent won a senior premiership but they are only 21 years old. I think you will find there are a lot of clubs that havent won a flag in 20 years. My opinion and it is only my opinion , this population talk, who cares how many people live in Melton they arent footy people. The demographic has changed most of the kids havent grown up in a aussie rules family, like where either dad or grand dad played, if you go to Ballarat ,Bendigo along the Murray most of the kids have grown up in that environment. The AFL know this im sure as they try and promote the game to different markets. Its not easy for the clubs in Melton, i think they all try hard but players just dont walk in like you think they do and neither do sponsors. Even Sunbury who i consider a footy town are probably finding its changing too as these places become suburbs of Melbourne.I dont think it has anything to do with it TBH, Melton Centrals when they first began were purely a senior team and were seen by most in the footy community as a bit of a joke, basically when players were not good enough for Bloods or South they play at Centrals. Also Melton jnrs play out of Richards Road so are in town and now Centrals play in one of the new estates. It might have some merit if Centrals were actually a successful and well run club but they are a complete debacle, have not played finals since joining the RDFL and dont seem to have any ambition to be any better. In terms of pulling away jnr talent, i could be wrong but i doubt that even 1 jnr playing playing at Centrals would have made it onto a Western Jets squad. On top of that the population of Melton would almost have doubled in the past decade so a town as big as Melton approx 140 000 should be able to easily accommodate 3 football clubs.
If your going to have a shot at a club at least have some clue what your talking about, to make a statement that a team has never played finals like it's fact is just ridiculous!I dont think it has anything to do with it TBH, Melton Centrals when they first began were purely a senior team and were seen by most in the footy community as a bit of a joke, basically when players were not good enough for Bloods or South they play at Centrals. Has this latest news made you change your ladder positions.
Another handy recruit to Melton Sth and a big one as his a 1 pointer..Might have disappointed the Darly followers last season but if Mitch is on his game and you can afford to use him as an outside mid he will "should" dominate local footy..
Williamstown Football Club today released Mitch Banner from his playing contract after the 2015 premiership player advised the club that due to his work commitments in the real estate industry, he will be unable to commit to the club in 2017
Sunbury. I know they have lost a lot of good talls and 2 goal kickers, but that's a big fall. Haven't seen many ins.Agree Marsh still top, think Darley will be better than sixth. South big improvers, but how far. Can't see Melton improving to make the six. Marsh,Lakers,Darley,Redan,South and Sunbury.Ill take a stab at predicting the ladder ..

He's obviously got ability but his efforts last season we're pretty poor.Has this latest news made you change your ladder positions.

From all reports it wasn't just his on field efforts that let him down. He's obviously got ability but his efforts last season we're pretty poor.
He'll be down the pecking order a bit at South so perhaps he'll fire with less pressure on him

Boys, not long now until the season opener. Does anyone know when the flag odds come out?
Broadbent got work up Albury way and left with the coaches blessing. He will be replaced - watch this space...
Noddy will be cleared and WONT be playing at the Bloods again.
DOWNTRODEN - We play 2 games before VFL play their first. Mitch Banner will be playing the first couple for us and a few more.
Great to see COLES on board as a sponsor. Club has never looked in a better position. Will give the BigFooty forum first crack when we float on the ASX.
Went back through previous posts and couldn't find where you said banner wouldn't be at willy. Guess you knew he wouldn't be because of work, you just didn't tell us. Replace peters with lynch in your comments because he hardly touched it at Gordon last year. Looking forward to the start of the season to see where south is at. Good luck to you and them.Happy Friday Boys!
I gave you all the mail on Mitchy Banner at the Panthers and I gave you the mail on Coles Major Sponsor! Get down there on Saturday with all the Panthers and say hello. Downtrodden you might be able to pick up a bottle of Gatorade to help swallow your pride
Just a quick recap
Fev flying, kicking them from the centre of PP
Adam Houli STAR
Noddy never been fitter (will be cleared before R1)
Benny Peters - hummmmming
Nick Kommer - give him the medal now
Mozzy Houli - kid can plan
Slot Mitchy Banner in and how does that look??
Woweeeee

Struggle to believe that Fev could possibly play round 1 judging by photos on the FoxFm website and instagram, looks very out of shape. No doubt he could sit in the goal square and will clunk a few and probably kick 5.. But if i was the opposition coach i would be running hard out of defence on him because he wont be chasing.
How is Lynch going.. The bloke is a star, and stood in a star studded midfield at Abers with names like Brock McLean & Luke Blackwell.. Houli is a very solid player, but no star.. tends to get sucked into doing lots of stupid undisciplined things and will cost South plenty of goals.
Happy Friday Boys!

They are probably already over so what's it matter if it's a little extraSo with Banner playing all season with South now, how will that affect salary cap constraints, given that they would have budgeted having him for 3 or 4 games, which has suddenly risen to 16? I would think it would mean a significant increase in total player payments or is he a really really good bloke and going to play for nothing, which seems to be what we are being asked to swallow regarding some of their other big name recruits.

Banners gf is the star recruit for the Panthers netball team, being paid $1500 a game
There'll be a lot of rich netballers in Victoria this year I'd say
And people might laugh at that statement. But look at Whitfield,Allan and Lambert. That's how it will happen. My missus would take off with all of that money and would dob me, the club and all the other players in!!
