I sympathise with the true south people, who love and have kept it afloat through some dark years. Fevola and Triplett will most likely leave the place in ruins. There is no quick fix.
I’d be much happier if I were a Bloods supporter, a team full of local kids and a club committed to a long term plan.
The problem we all have is when our young players are given offers of pretty big money to Leave a league like bfnl to go to chfnl or similar. Once these kids go you don’t get them back for a little long time if at all. My opinion is that the salary cap needs to be enforced much more stringently than it is currently is. There needs to be more cap given to top 5 to 8 country leagues and much less cap to the second tier. I’d say top 8 leagues should be at $150k minimum then the second tier should drop dramatically to about $75k. Audit every team comprehensively. We need to find ways to Stop the poaching of the talent we develop.

If good kids are leaving for more money then it says they aren’t being looked after or it’s not a club they want to really play for anyway. If they don’t want play at their home club for a bit less, then that says something about the club. But obviously there are certain guys that are all about $$$$.

I’m not talking about $50 a game! When good young kids are offered $500+ when they’re 17, 18 or 19 they’re not going to stay for $150-$200. That’s the reality of what’s happening now and has been for a while. Not much can be done by the Home club to prevent it from happening. Nothing new in what I’m saying, but the points system hasn’t had a great impact on the issue.

I get your point. The chance of some success also helps. I guarantee you there are locals at marsh and darley that would get much better dollars elsewhere, but they stay. South don’t have that luxury.

Can someone elaborate on points allocation for Sebastopol from the weekend
James Keeble played 17 games for Nth Ballarat last year should he be 5 points?

Nicholas Hausler played 11 games for Nth Ballarat 5points
Player 7 for Redan so should be an extra point for transferring to a team in the same league so should he be 6 points
I know that Sebastopol get a points concession but surely they cannot also get player concessions ?

So a Nick Hausler who played over 5 games for both Redan and Nth Ballarat should be 6 points? Strange when I looked at the points allocated he was only 4 points then

I thought I understood the points system pretty well but after the events of the last couple of weeks it is clear to me that I have no idea.

I not involved in BFL so cant comment too much on individuals, but in the Points System guidelines(6.3), if you receive 5 points for playing VFL, you do not receive any extra points on top regardless of opposition etc. So that would be why he not 6, but doesn't explain how he not 5

I could not find that explanation in 6.3 but I do know that there was a player in the EDFL a couple of years back that was 7 points as he was straight from AFL and transferred to another club in the same league so why would He not get an extra point for doing the same?

Your referring to Veszpremi who transferred from Pascoe Vale to Doutta Stars and yes he was 7 points.

Sounds like some backroom conversations and secret agreements we weren’t privy to. I’m sure the league want a more competitive Sebas rather than a relocated Sebas.
Those familiar with the Hampden league may be able to confirm Hausler was playing 2nds for Koroit 2-years ago. So probably wont have a big impact for Sebas anyway.
It's just AFL Goldfields lack of transparency that's the worrying part of this.
I'm sure someone from AFL Goldfields watches this forum, how about clearing this up for us!

Sebas would be bitterly disappointed with that scoreline I'm tipping. Did their recruits show anything BlueJet?
Sorry for the delayed response.
They were solid without playing exceptionally, it may take a few more games to build rapport with their new teammates.
The scoreline flattered North a bit as Sebast had their chances early but weren't able to get full reward for effort, I'm sure that they'll click as the season goes on. [emoji106]

Sebas don’t look to have the depth to trouble the better teams. It’s good to add the top end talent but without strong 2nds and juniors they’ll struggle this year and into the future.

Hausler gave koderenko a bath today.

didnt go to bad for a seconds koroit ruckman and got no juniors and got 7 of our best 22 out. Cmon should of been a walk in the park for east
Reality is Sebas have lost the first 2-games against average teams, but at least you're happy with a loss. How did your under 18's go today?

I’m surely been told a lie Darley didn’t bring the premiership cup in by helicopter today hahahah my leg has to have been pulled for sure
Was not there to see it but yes they did do that. A bit over the top, but I guess you can do whatever you want when you are the reigning champs. Must have fired Melton up. Good start to the year for both them and Sunbury. The competition maybe more even than first thought.
