I got tired of waiting so I set up a server using gamearena. We can switch to the other when its ready.

Hopefully someone who is more up to date with rcon commands can come and play because I am pretty rusty.

I installed Steam and then tried to dl the game but it keeps prompting me to confirm that Steam is installed even though its running. Getting a bit annoying now... anyone?

There appears to be a few problems with some recent patches.

Disabling mutlicore rendering in advanced graphics options fixed it for me.

It doesn't normally take that long. It should take any longer then it does to update as a client which is a few minutes on a decent connection. Who are you renting it through?

Scratch that, it seems TF2 is updated every day.
