I think today has shown that the Ruck position is incredibly overrated. I have been in the "we need to recruit a ruck man" camp for a while, but the reality is there are 4 dominant big men in the comp- Naitanui, Goldstein, Jacobs, Sandilands.
Hawthorn have just won a flag with two of the most mediocre rucks going around in Mcevoy and Hale. In fairness hale is more a forward/ruck than ruck/forward, and Mcevoy offers a bit around the ground with contested marking. But honestly Maric is probably sitting in the next tier below those 4, and if we get a bit more out of Vickery then maybe it isn't as glaring a need as I first thought... Naitanui supposedly one of the best rucks in the comp but Hawthorn just roved to him and WCE didn't win a clearance all day.
I reckon get the best available big man with out first pick in the draft and develop them. Hopefully Soldo comes along in the twos

Have said 1000,s times.Nic Nat has one asset,His leap/Spring.Has no football nous beyond that.If W/Cst had a Goldstein or a Jacobs then their midfield would have more of a chance in a high pressure game like the GF.

Hampson in your best 22? I suppose with less rotations.
also, Lids off hb? wheres bachar houli?
Sorry doing it on the fly while watching the GF. I had Houli at BP but omitted him for some reason. This is better as Vlastuin can go to mid rotation with Houli replacing him. For some reason I also omitted McIntosh as well!! Hampson to help by being the no1 ruck and Maric the no2. Hampson is a better centre square ruck. Just a view at this stage of where the new 4th bench player is used by teams.

Batchelor Rance Grimes
Houli Chaplin Deledio
Ellis Vlastuin Yarran
Bennell Reiwoldt Martin
Lennon Vickery Edwards
Maric Cotchin Miles
C Ellis/Grigg/McIntosh Conca Hampson

I will start.

Bennell has already accepted terms with Freo and his first mission for the club was to make best friends with Dusty and convince Dusty to follow him to Freo.
I'd cry.

Dusty will be a Tiger for life though.

Apparently we have counter attacked and given all the Doozy money to Zac Dawson.
