Moving away from Bennell for a while (I fear I'm becoming too obsessed reading this thread) I've been thinking about other options and opportunities.

I wouldn't mind targeting Matthew Lobbe from Port. He had a down year this year but I rate him as a good young(ish) ruckman. Thinking we should try to get him this year while the gettin's good.

What about Smith from GC ??
I'm not opposed to Smith, don't know that much about him. But I think Lobbe was poised to become one of the top five or six ruckmen this year but Port recruiting Ryder stuffed that a bit.

Also it seems WCE have too many rucks. Lycett is from Adelaide and best mates with Sam Gray from what I hear. Maybe a three-way trade could work out well for the three clubs.

I like Lobbe but I wouldn't be surprised if the club is going to try an eek out as much as they can from Maric. Reason being is that he offers a significant amount of leadership to the group and that I think if Lobbe comes over he becomes a twos player with Griff and Vickery being adequate second rucks. I think they will try and get one more season out of Maric, make top 4, win a final and try and lure someone for free through free agency so as we don't have to pay the premium price that Lobbe is worth atm.

Looking at yesterday Naitanui just didn't influence the game despite his ability to dominate ruck contests. Obviously we have been burnt a couple of times but if the midfield is good enough it seems they should be able to overcome ruck dominance.

Port'll want a bit for him, so if were gonna give the absolute berries at getting Bennell he's gonna be a difficult target

Freo still expected to go all out for Harley Bennell despite Tiger developments. Dockers expected to string out trade talks. Want bargain

This idiot would've had TV out for 4-5 weeks if he was in charge of the MRP for his feathertouch bump on Jamison.

I hope that's true about the stringing out trade talks. We'll show we're keen and get him while they're still in the stands.

Or, at least, I hope so
