The clapbacks for that flog Lyon have got me going on a likefest in this thread. He's a fraud of the highest order. Fox Footy Player Takeover Week was particularly damning for him as it illustrated how much better things were when Lyon was replaced by literally anyone. He quite clearly pays attention to very little, because he has a history of latching onto some minor thing and then having his whole outlook biased by it for the next decade.

What's the bet old Gazza's new angle is 'can they win without Naitanui'?

Miserable kent. Still dark over 1994. Still dark over Judd choosing Carlton. Still dark over last year's chokey mcchokeface.

He's been setting himself for WC vs Collingwood at the G for about 10 weeks, even mentioning it that far in advance on On The Couch. Will probably do a Robbo and it make it about him and how 'we impressed him' etc.

LOL as much as I dislike Lyon, he didn't say anything remotely close to hoping Rioli did his hamstring. He says he worries when players try to kick it out of the ground when they're on the goal line as it's tempting fate to do a hammy.
Hush now, this thread is for people with a chip on the shoulder. Way over the top with hate for Lyon and Barrett - even when they say positive things about West Coast, it gets turned around in here :) Don't get me wrong Lyon's bias is terrible, but so is half this thread...

Only about half the complaints in here are actually valid ;)

Lot's of article questioning if we can win a final without Naitanui..... we won an Away final last year without him...
Not to forget, we qualified for them without both him and Lycett.

Was actually thinking the same thing before Lyon said anything. Someone’s going to do it one day and look like a right idiot. Just put it through, saw what can happen when Lycett tried it haha

Lots asking whether we can win a GF without him. Which is a perfectly valid question to ask. We're all asking the same thing here after all.
The answer is yes. Or maybe that is just Biased/incompetent fan coverage ;)

When a player is doing something they've been doing for years, and it is coming as some sort of revelation to a commentator, it says a lot about their bias and/or basic observation abilities.

This is more a non-commentary thing but did anyone else pick up on the Rioli non free on the goal line.
Toward the end of 2nd qtr the ball was going deep into the fwd line and Rioli and a Pie player, can't remember who, were running at it.
The ball bounced and evaded both of them and the Pie player basically tackled Rioli to the ground, without the ball which ended up getting rushed through for a behind.
I was screaming at the tv for the free but nothing. Not even another look on the replay or a comment from the commentators.
Did I miss something? Was it a blade of grass that brought Rioli down?

Writing this reminded me of another consistency throughout the game, non replays of missed or wrong decisions our way.

Was that the one right on the goal line?

If so I remember thinking Willie played it poorly. Had he gone at the footy he’d likely have taken the mark or won himself a free kick.

Apologies if this isn’t the one you’re referring to!

Gary Lyon LOVED that HTB against Nic Nat early in the first.

You could hear the smugness in his voice in his "special comments" following that specific passage of play...
