Fox Sports going with the old "draft an article and plug the details in later' approach, and then not going back to plug in the details.

Maybe they were doing it as a Madlibs game?

"Pick a number. Now pick a body part"

"OK here's what you got: "Josh Kennedy was ruled out of the opening __69__ rounds with a __butt__ injury""

So we're playing a prominent Victorian club in Perth this week.

Expect articles on the following; Free kicks (especially free kicks in Perth), 'ducking', 'noise of affirmation', Optus stadium fence/surface/dunnies etc, "Nicnat under scrutiny", "Brave Richmond primed for the challlenge".

Yep.

No articles or commentary.

Let us fly under the radar for once. Why are people so desperate for attention to be focused on us? Let them jack off over the Tigers all they want.

Desperate for attention?

I think it's more a matter of getting deserved recognition.

Also now that we live in a world where we have to pay for a lot of media; if I'm forking out for Foxtel, how about discussing my team on AFL 360? Or if I have to pay for a website access, why not cover some more information about my team?

This "flying under the radar" shit is pathetic IMO. Do you think opposition teams do less research based on media coverage? LoL

We all know what happens when WC become the focus of the media. Do you think it will be articles praising us?

While coaching staff do their own scouting media most definately has an influence. Remember the Eagles web?

From rags like the HUN, who cares?

Certain other clubs picked it well before the Healy brains trust did.

Fearing positive media coverage is for amateurs. I don't think it needs to be worried about .

Not fearing just seems needy more then anything. We don't need nor want their recognition. What I want is the flag.

Don't need puddle depth analysis and copy paste articles.

I don't disagree with great deal of what you've said in this post, but we all like ingesting information about football yeah? Why can't some of that information be positive reflections of how well our team is travelling?

This isn't about being a good or bad performing team, it's about not being Victorian so not getting the coverage we deserve. I don't think it's a huge ask.

Are we all ready for this week's commentary to revolve around how shit Essendon and St Kilda are, rather than our unexpected form that sees us two games clear in second spot?
To be honest, I am absolutely ready for that. I'd be just fine with the footy world ignoring us for the entire season. It doesn't stop me from loving how we're playing, and if it helps the eagles to keep flying under the radar then all the better.

The fact Michael Christian decided to respond tells us everything we need to know about him - egotistical twat that is all about himself.

If he was that confident in his suspension of Naitanui he would've said nothing, as it is he's not covering himself in glory by hitting back. You won't find any AFL fan suddenly changing their mind based on his response, it achieves nothing but to massage his own ego.

Under previous regimes, the members of the Match Review Panel were unable to speak about why they had arrived at a decision even if a particular case had been shrouded in scrutiny.

Shrouded in scrutiny?

Notice he didn't reply to the pre-empting accusation?

How does the phrase "easiest decision I have ever made" explain the reasoning behind the decision?

Scratch that. Now I see the reasoning behind the decision in his comments: he is a self important jerk.
