Correct me if I'm wrong here flea but I believe that port could have forced us to use our 1st pick even as a f/s. I just remember thinking great job by those in charge. They knew that port had very strong interest so we went for the pick downgrade from 14 to 15 got (Ellis I think) & Morris into the bargain. Bloody good drafting. Doing that trade with GWS (who I think had him prelisted) took it completely out of port ability to force our hand.

It was more a case of just deciding that it wasn't worth the risk when we had such a 'cheap' option.
