Calm down!

Yes he will have time off but no need to insite the rubbish that we will no doubt hear all week from every whineing supporter and Robert "I'm a dick head" Walls.

Davis probably gets a repieve so good for him

Your team shouldnt cop the crap , only Hall who will deserve it .
6 to 8 weeks .

If Hall gets 6 weeks he will come back in round 11 against the Eagles at Subiaco oval.

Personally I think it's a 5-6 week offence but Leigh Matthews has probably added two weeks at least to that.

I only say the 5-6 weeks because a Hawk Player got that quite a few years back for a punch to the head and the Hawk player was actually looking at the opposition Barry didn't even seem to be looking.

However stupid act and unfortunately lets the team down when there was some real momentum building.

Talented side Swans can cope for some weeks but it will end up a factor most likely starting with the cats next week.

Was a good hit thats for sure..
Pity hes going to pay for it big time..
Though on the bright side, since the incident he hasnt been that involved and we have goten on with the game as best as we could, to our credit we have maintained a good lead.
Davis back in next week, as long as he does his bit and kicks 3 goals plus a game we can cover Halls absence.
Still cant believe it has put a big damper on a game i should be enjoying alot more than what i am..

I'm just shocked and depressed. Can't even enjoy the game anymore, in fact I don't even want anything to do with football at the moment.

Theres no defending the dumb ____ for a pathetic act like that.

Oh, stop being so precious. Surely we're not too touchy to be honest: Hall has let us down and I see no reason not to say so.
I agree with you Charlie.

I am a Carlton supporter but have lived in Sydney since the Swans have been here and they are very much my second side.

Swans supporters should be pretty upset with Hall as he is going to spend a considerable amount of times on the sidelines.

One stupid act has let the club and its supporters down badly.

Anyone think Jessie White will get a game now?

I think Barry will get anywhere from 6-10(Head High, High Impact, Off Play, and history).

No defence for what he did - just a brain snap and he'll just have to cop it sweet. He was really starting to look the goods again so to lose it like that is just dumb dumb dumb. Even at his worst '07 form he was keeping 1 or 2 defenders busy so now the forewards will be under more pressure.

However, maybe there can be some positives. Baz is a huge influence and target up front. His absence could help solidify a combination of Magic, Rhino Davis etc over the next 6/8/10 weeks. Last year in the games when he was out there were some promising signs. This could be the start of something.

Am I polishing a terd? Yes. Just don't want to look at the reality really.

Gotta correct myself! On second look on you tube it seems Barry might have been looking when he hit after all :(

Silly act in this day and age. I love the rough stuff at the footy but tough to enjoy this one.

Im just glad for Staker that Hall didnt really let it rip. Could have done real damage.

Brain snap from Barry Hall, no doubt. He will be feeling worse than anyone at the moment, and rightly so. 6-8 weeks is fair IMO. Anything less then hes got off lightly. If I was sitting in judgement I would give him 8. Enjoy the biffo or not it is obvious that most people dont want this in our game anymore so Hall has to suffer the consequences of his actions.

Like many on here I have seen much worse but thats not the point. Im not sure if society has moved forward as there seems to be more and more violence happening but certainly sport has moved on since the 70's and 80's bloodfests. As much as I enjoy the old footage of the all in brawls, I did cringe when I saw Lynch a few years ago and I cringed again tonight when I saw what Hall did.

Hall has let himself down but more importantly in a team game and with such a strong team mentality that Sydney have built their success on, he has let down his teams mates, coaches, club and supporters.

Hall has always been a time bomb waiting to go off. Tonight for one split second it happened. He pays. We move on.

PS. And I hope right now his team mates are really making it hurt.

Just came back from the game. I was astonished to say the least. Throughout the whole game, I was feeling a bit empty knowing that Baz will be out for at least 4 weeks. Bad form Baz.

There's a difference between saying he let us down and flying off the handle completely. I was referring to the other thread that has now been deleted, and didn't want this thread to go down a similar path.

Never assume, mate:thumbsdown:

Did Hall get a standing ovation when he came off the ground injured or just a loud cheer?

Serious question as the vision wasn't shown on TV.
It wasnt standing but I have to say it was a mighty loud clapping and quite alot of onya Bazza's but i dont think it had a lot to do with much else but his injury had he not been inured it would have been like any other interchange.

I'm not too worried about it, Nick Davis will just have to stand up in his absence. Also Hall's injured wrist would have kept him out for a few weeks anyway, so it could be like he just got injured not reported, with a little luck of course.

That's about what he will get but he will pay a far greater price than any games suspension the Tribunal could give him - the indignity and shame of having to carry that with him for the rest of his life. Football is a tough game but there was nothing tough about what he did tonight. Sadly, Barry Hall will forever be remembered for this incident which is shame because he has been a great player for many years.
