I was wondering who would take Shakib. I was considering him, but his record isn't as good as I thought. He is a good player obviously, but it always helps when you're the easily the best player in a team.

his od record over the past 2 years is pretty great. average of 38 with the bat and 26 with the ball. his T20 record is pretty poor but most of that is from International's and I would say his record with the bat is greatly affected by the poor batsmen ahead of him. I don't understand why he contiunes to get over-looked for the IPL and other T20 comps.

an average of 19 with the ball is still really good let alone when you consider what he's capable of with the bat.


thought about haddin but when Dhoni lasting as long as he did was too good to refuse.

argh i thought about symonds instead of smith but i was hoping everyone else had forgotten about his existence, allowing me to pick him up on the cheap.

symonds batting is better but his bowling isn't. it really just depends on how each player is being played.

I'd take Symonds ahead of Afridi, but that's probably more because he is a spinner first these days rather than a genuine all rounder. His batting was pretty disappointing for the Redbacks, he seems to have lost all but one gear. Having said that though, you're not going to find many spinners who can bat like him.

Oh, and Razzaq > Afridi.
