Will not be in decline if guys like Maxwell can produce batting like that.Personally I hate T20 cricket but that was one special innings last night which a lot of us are not going to forget for a while.
I am a Glenn Maxwell fan, but I doubt he will ever have to face a more inept bowling attack than that.

So they are talking about for next season

DRS
Draft for Australian and International players why not an auction but oh well
shortening the season more double headers

So basically the same suggestions as the last 3/4 years, instead the marketing team at CA will come up with multi-ball and the super sub where you can swap your player with one from the other team. I like the BBL more than most but there are just way too many flaws currently.

Steve Smith barred from playing in the finals. It's almost like the CA wants the BBL to fail.

Sydney wanting the rules changed just for them. For once CA actually enforcing them instead of letting Sydney do whatever they want. Serves Sydney right.

but in terms of reason for the format, both played on kids enjoyment.

I don't remember anybody even kids enjoying aflx. More to do with transitioning sport to rectangular stadiums.

Cricket investing in future & creating fans from young age is very smart.

Isn't the problem that CA is run by people who are only focused on short term gain to justify their positions and please shareholders? The last TV rights deal was a good example of that, and also lengthening the BBL. There seems to be no long term vision, just make as much as cash as possible before you piss off to a job somewhere else and leave the league and the sport worse off.

How to fix the BBL for the foreseeable future.
1. Reduce the comp down to eight games per side during the BBL 12 season
2. Bring in DRS (1 review for batting and bowling)
3. Get rid of Bash Boost Point.
4. 3 home games and 1 alternative home game. E.G Melbourne Renegades 3 at Marvel Stadium, 1 at GHMBA
5. Start and End with rivalry round. Sydney Thunder vs Sydney Sixers Spotless Stadium, Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Marvel Stadium, Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat Blundstone Arena, Perth Scorchers vs Adelaide Strikers Perth Stadium. Then alternative in the last round
6. Start Mid-December - End Late January (Marquee matches still occur)
7. 22 Contracted Players
