And the Thunder have been s**t…
Thunder's performance has been comparable to the Renegades. A few wooden spoons and a title each.

Stars should be comparable to the Sixers though, and on that scale we can categorically call them a complete failure of an organisation.

Need to pay them more than Dubai is going to pay them.

The Domestic T20 Comp calendar is heavily skewed towards January. You have Dubai, South Africa and Bangladesh all with their domestic leagues on this time of year. And the Pakistan T20 starting in feb.

Compare that to the IPL which has managed to not only get an empty slot on the domestic schedule, but also on the international schedule too.
The Lankan league was in December and the SuperSmash over Dec-Jan

The only reason the IPL has the international window is because the BCCI went to the ICC and demanded it. The only think I think competes with the IPL may be a Zimbabwe series and the County Championship

Even the MLC and CPL will have their own T20 windows, July and then September. Which works well for players, because you can get chose for both and then play both in the same area.

Saker has rubbished the BBL draft, saying it leads to lazy coaching, certain players didn't nominate because they wanted one team or bust
That's what the Rashid Khan rule was for.
Players should learn to suck it up, you're getting played to play cricket. I don't hear players in the other leagues bitching about where they play.

Players in other leagues get a lot more money, shorter tournaments, less travel

But apparently a host of English players refused to come play due to the draft

Just going by what Saker said, wonder who decided to pull out haha

You’ve just outlined how this can be fixed.

You can't have a shorter tournament and more money. It pretty much necessarily means less money.

Pulling a bunch of the best players out for the last 2 finals is probably indicative of just how serious CA treats the league. Why would internationals take it seriously?

Be interesting to see how they fixture the games next year with a shorter season.

It's fine to throw out the line that the tournamant should be done by Australia Day however the sport and TV networks can't afford to give Tennis too much free air time. A shorter finals series will help but Cricket needs to keep up the content through until the end of the Australian Open.

I feel like I've enjoyed the tournament more this year but it still feels too long. The decision to reduce the number of matches as part of the new TV rights deal is a good one.

Yep, 3 nights is alot the weekend before all the big shows come back.

The key point is a Jan 26 final means you have days without games leading up to it. You would have to finish the minor round around the 22nd of Jan or there abouts.

Is anyone who wanted to watch a high quality game going to really watch the Gades v Heat over Novax?

But in a year like this or next you could play the 2 semis on Australia Day and the final on the Sat or Sun.

In 2025 when it’s a Monday you play the Semis on the 23/24 and final on Australia Day.

But of course that’s all a pipe dream because CA can’t play on Invasion Day…🙄🙄

Squad's got good players in who have since left for other leagues but then came the australian players to help... who then have left before the comp is over.

Just a farce, at least should have been wrapped up before players left for india

even next year when it falls on a Friday, which is prime viewing time for either a day's play in a Test and/or BBL game(s)? Granted the West Indies are touring next year, so that creates difficulties too
West Indies are here for two tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in January and February.

Wouldn't mind betting we have a white-ball game on the Thursday night, the 25th, and then another on the Saturday or Sunday.

When I was a boy the tri series ran and Australia Day was always Australia v WI or whoever was the main act that summer

CA not fixturing any Big Bash games or international games on Australia Day would just be another example of them shooting themselves in the foot.

Whether or not you agree with the date shouldn't have anything to do with having a cricket match on that date, it's a public holiday in the middle of summer and cricket is a huge part of Australian culture, it should be compulsory to play cricket on that day and if people don't like it don't watch it.
