For test cricket I fear more for countries outside the Big 3, in particular NZ, SA, West Indies in particular.

Trent Boults' retirement from test cricket, Ben Stokes retiring from ODI cricket are warning signs given the current schedule is it almost impossible to balance even two forms, let alone three forms.

I agree. I do think the standard home test series will always have a prominent place in the summer calendar of England and Australia, with India slotting their share in when they see fit. In the big 3 nations, Test cricket I feel is too ingrained in the fabric of the culture to go extinct.

Outside of that though, it is looking bleak. How long for example will it be financially justifiable for Cricket West Indies and Cricket South Africa to continue to host sides outside the big 3 at massive losses in front of a handful of eyeballs?

Prior to the 1940s and 50s we almost exclusively played tests against England and South Africa. I’d hate to see the day when we return to a similar arrangement (with India in place of South Africa), but it may be inevitable in the coming decade(s).

Yeah absolutely and if that "test cricket window" I mentioned above comes to fruition Australia will probably play 75% of our test cricket against India and England.

How is cricket in places like Sri Lanka and West Indies going to stay afloat when the only countries that are money spinners for them (England, India and to a lesser degree Australia) just simply don't have the time to tour there anymore?

IPL franchises aren't going to be financing jack shit for the good of the game. I doubt they'd even be interested in setting up academies in these sorts of places to help with recruitment into the IPL because they will be able to get more than enough players domestically plus from England and Australia. New Zealand and South Africa will probably be able to continue on a shoestring, jagging the odd international tour from Australia or England (probably not India) so the IPL will be able to score some players from there as well...

In the context of what is happening this is not near the most important side of what is happening, but how do you put into historical context the performances of the next generation of Kane WIlliamson, Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada if their test cricket consists almost exclusively of contests between a barely professional South Africa or New Zealand teams playing what amount to semi professionals from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and West Indies?

They would never have an Ashes series as a 1 off test match. But to squeeze in a schedule as such, I couldnt see why 1 series test matches couldnt be done by other nations: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, NZ, South Africa, Afghanistan, Ireland, Bangladesh.

I feel incredibly uneasy about Cricket Australia proudly declaring Trent Boult has signed up for the BBL Draft given how much that hurts international cricket. It is not a good thing. They're cheering on their own demise.

Is there a full list of players somewhere?

Such an underwhelming list

Can the renegades take Babar or Pooran over any of of the platinums asnumber one pick?

I’d be taking either of them at 1 or otherwise it’s Faf or Dre

Dre is linked to Stars I think so if they bid he'll go there
You have to take a platinum player with a platinum pick

Livingstone is close to the best t20 player in the world.
ranked 71 in the world not exactly screaming best in the world

coming off a high score of 18 is his last T20 series

averaging 28 in T20s

Averages mean stuff all it’s all about SR’s plus a very handy spinner and a gun in the field. Would take him pick 1 without any question
