Why don't we all just continue to burden him with the weight of our expectation.... chuck him straight into the seniors with no pre season, no experience in senior football and just hope he stands up and carries the club for 15 years..... Seriously could we have some calm. Let DH play him when he thinks Ben is ready, not when a bunch of supporters think.... No wonder we have been a rabble for so long

There are many OTHER factors why we have been a rabble for so long. Surely chucking youngsters down the deep end (when ready) isn't one of them. IMO, Dimma will have Ben playing senior footy as early as possible.

[, yet Griffiths is being hailed as some sort of messiah?????

They'll play some games, show some promise, at times look threatening, but also have their quiet days.

I just find the hype and expectation surrounding, especially Griffiths, as unwarranted, unnecessary and potentially embarrassing if the kid doesn't deliver.[/quote]

Agree Golddust, but lets just remember he's not the messiah he's just a very naughty boy!! And lets hope that when he earns his chance he can be a "recking ball" on the score board. Go Tigs:rolleyes:

Been thinking about the forward line after reading a few threads. I personally don't think we should rush Ben in unless he earns it (as opposed to just being a big unit with potentual - i believe Richard Lounder was one of those as well). I'm now warming to the idea of this. When Foley comes back into the team our forward line should then look like this:
HF: Roberts, Delidio, Reidwolt
FF: Nahas, Polak, Morton.
I chose Polak as we need to see whether he will play beyond this year. If he is failing after 4-5 rounds, switch Jack to FF and move either post or Rance onto a HHF. As previously stated by a few guys, could Delidio be utilised like a Hird? i think so.

Hird 188/90kg
Lids 188/88kg

And if anyone can make a comparison it will be Dimma as he played with Hird and now coaching Lids. Love to see it happen.

Well what are you waiting for, ring Dimma and make it happen!!!!! Action not words dammit!:D

Ill give him a quick Twitter;)

Bloody twitter and facebook, the demise of civilisation. But i expect a new thread on how you achieved this great move by (i'll give you some time), about 11.15am.

Dont expect to see the kid until the last few rounds of the year if at all.

He has been crippled with injuries and will be wrapped in cotton wool for most of the season. he will start in Coburg ressies, probably for a month then maybe he will make into the coburg side, but he will most definately not play senior footy any time soon.

Book mark this post if you disagree with it. The guys expecting anything different probably have no idea about footy, development or rehab for a young KPP that size.

Get a grip people

Correct....

Wouldn’t be rushing in Griffiths anytime soon with the injuries he is currently sustaining. Big KPP and as previously mentioned will be wrapped in cotton wool for the majority of this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make 1 senior appearance this whole season. Would love to see him dominate at Coburg before getting a call up to the senior side.

saw big benny today at training. he looks super fit and i was super impressed with how quick he is.

Who remenbers Jack Watts "welcome to AFL" greeting?

First thing I would do would be test the kids shoulders out at every opportunity to put him of his game.

Griffiths wont be around till at least mid season. I would hate it if he was rushed in. Say no to Griffiths untill at least round 11

here here as much as we all want the kids in asap it would be absolute folly toi rush him in.

i havent seen much of him at all but what i have seen even with his size he was not dominant in the air .
coming of a shoulder he will need time to find touch and confidence, and he will find it even harder to lord it over men at coburg with his size, like he should of at u18s.
imo he was not the best performer at pick 19 but he may have had the most upside. development people it can be a wait for development and with big blokes it usually is.
its crazy to expect to much to early from this kid.
lets get him playing well with confidence at coburg first then we can prop him in a pocket at richmond with some other hard big bodies around him for some experience.
if he shows he can cope 8 to 10 games this yr if he struggles maybe a handful if we are lucky.

good point and more than likely the attraction to him, he had a big haul in a U18 champs game and then in Tac18 finals which underlines a kids ability to deliver in good company...I'm certain we'll take outr time with him...a month in VFL at least
