King, Gardiner, Lade, Jeff White, Brogan, Minson, Hudson, Spider, just off the top of my head. Some of those you might consider second string, so be it.

I note that the Blake/Corey duo is something like 5th in the competition for clearances (20), 5 behind Hille/Watson.

And something like 4th for hitouts - although it's not my favourite stat. You might ask who's ahead of him. There aren't many, certainly Cox and Hille, but not many others.

stats are stats
i'd take otto corey or bartel or ablett oe selwood or chapman or rooke or ling or ..... prismall...... or varcoe.................before i'd even think about hille - watson

that is the problem when you are a historian

Been doing really well lately and performing in our 'big' matches and against good opponents. Really happy with him and thought he might enjoy having Ottens back.

Well yeah that is a given, but that probably has more to do with Watson than Hille - Hille is likely to be AA.

Not that I would swap Otto for Hille.

I think the point is that Blake has done a pretty good job overall.

i was merely pointing out that stats can be two way
and that we were struggling in the ruck until otto came back

(but catman will agree with me that the mummy was looking like he was going to be a real star, and has fallen away since being dropped, my tip for the biggest improver over the pre-season)

well it is easy to look good against a weak side

Could potentially use that argument for a guy like Prismall as well...but that is for other threads.

And I do like Prismall for the record.

He's had a very good year. His ball handling skills have improved greatly and his teammates now have the confidence to pass to him.

Go the Gazelle :thumbsu:

:D During the Hawthorn game I was calling Blake the baby giraffe but then my brother and I (after a few beers) thought Nimble was better.

Another good game by Blake, really coming on well and looks more comfortable with Ottens around.

He'll just get better the more he plays.
