Big Cox

I'm tipping that Cox will really stand up for us and go in hard. Inserting him into the team will give our dysfunctional forward line some much needed drive and penetration. Hopefully he can fill the hole that Clokey's limp performances have left. Such a big unit.. The Melbourne defenders will get pretty nervous when they feel him coming up behind
Have I missed any?
He has been in a rich vein of form I hope his purple patch continues

What I want for cox? Someone who has a dip in the ruck and contest up forward. McDonald will go to Cloke so he should have a massively undersized defender on him. Put it on his head!!!

Hopefully he does well; I've been impressed by him because he's huge but also really mobile for a guy his size so he is a genuine threat in the forward 50 from the VFL games that I've seen him play. Him and Moore in the same forward line could be scary just based on how mobile the two of them are

Only half. You totally forgot mention the number of touches he would get, the illegal disposal won't be a pretty sight . He is the biggest relief player we have .
He doesn't beat around the bush ,his tackle stats are impressive and is not afraid to go head to head with other rucks.

Don't expect too much he will be on one of the best ruckman in the game.

I don't think he will go head to head with Max Gawn, as far as I see it Grundy is still more advanced in the ruck role, but we'll necessarily use him as a forward option. Just quietly Melbourne will find it hard to stop him in the air given his size and ability to mark, they won't contain him, just wait for Cox to clunk a few to really send shivers down their backs.

He isn't ready to play forward I don't think. He marks well at times but as of yet he doesn't attract the easy ball.

He'll be forward the majority of the game unless you think Grundy is a better option as the third tall forward. Expect Cox to ruck 20-30% of the game at an absolute maximum.

i watched the last quarter of the vfl and then the first quarter. I was surprised to see him so stuffed in the last quarter. There were significant parts of both quarters where Gault rucked. He needs to get his weak-assed basketball body up and running. I know american basketballers are used to wandering up and down a short court for an hour or so, and they dont have to get fit, but Mason needs to understand that he's playing a sport that is aerobically challenging. Shape up american pie!

He has the tools to be a supper damaging forward but as I said he needs to learn some forward craft so he knows when to hit up and get an easy kick

Ok. That didn't really answer the question about whether you think Grundy is a better option.

Balme probably gave the biggest hint on Cox's position in the team sheet video on the club site. Not sure if you've seen it, but he was talking Cox up as a forward more than a ruck at this stage.

I hope the pressure doesn't get to him and he's a flop.

Don't think the pressure will get to him. Whether he has much of it or not is another question. But it won't be a confidence thing.

Hope the yank sends some screams down the G.

Ive got a really good feeling about Cox. Im not expecting him to come out and kick 5 or anything but i just think his height will be handy in the ruck and up forward i really dont know who Melbourne will put on him.

Dunn to Moore
Mcdonald to Cloke
?????

Either way he should have 20cm on his opponent which is MASSIVE. If we play him right by putting it on his head he should go alright.

I was under the impression you could never have enough Cox.

What a kick in the Cox

The selection committee have proven to be the biggest Cox tease in the AFL. They elevate Cox to the senior list, select him in the 25 man squad yet then leave him out of the final 22.
A bit of a let down I think I feel a bit limp about it all.

You know they have a pill to fix you problem? :D

Yeah I would have liked to
See him play and show some presence and heart. I am thankful White was not selected though.......
