Great effort and a terrific game but there will probably never be a 'miracle at the WACA' game again.

WA, after being 1-50, were skittled by Qld for 77 by Thommo and Dymock.
Then, against a batting lineup that included the two best batsmen in the world at the time (Richards, GChappell), Lillee, Clark and Malone did them for 62. Qld were 6-40 and put it together to reach 6-61 before losing 4-2.

Shame theres no footage here of BIll Lawry going spare when Jeff Thompson was bowled by Wayne Clark going for a slog over cow corner…. “ disgraceful … a diabolical shot from a test cricketer “

They'd prefer to use to money on keeping the local talent together, I suspect. Haven't chased a big name international since Gayle.
I think a lot of the money is coming from CA.

Pretty much said if the player not available for the whole series, they won't pick him.

Just retained Laurie Evans.
Nice.

Just had a watch of the highlights. All 5 were batsmen holing out in the deep. Not the highest quality 5-fa, but I'm sure his added pace and bounce assisted.
He had a plan to Sikandar Raza that worked a treat. Give him nothing, and every so often throw in a short one. Even in his recent hundreds, Raza was only just getting his pull shots away. Sure enough, he strangled one of Green's short balls. So yes, Green benefited from tailenders having death or glory heaves, but he also worked out Zimbabwe's best batter.

Just noticed Evans and Salt open the batting together in the Hundred for Manchester so maybe they think they’ll have some chemistry together. Both looking scratchy at the start of last night’s replay though
