With Marsh’s injury I don’t think the Scorchies have the batting to win this BBL. Lineup just seems too thin, especially since Agar seems to have gone backwards pretty hard with the bat.
Agar's played one good innings in his life and it was ten years ago.

Agree - hasn’t been consistently good for a few years now. Doesn’t bowl
There are far better batting options in the middle order than Turner who is living off a purple patch from a couple of seasons ago. As you say he doesn't bowl. Agar at least is a solid bowler who bats.

TBF, Turner did make a crucial half century in last year's final.
Bowled tonight as well.
I also rate his captaincy.

What other option are you referring to?

The bottom line is, we've lost Marsh, Salt and Evans.
Our batting is fragile.

Bancroft needs to play for Hobson and Green at the back end of the tournament.

Fielding wasn't that hot either. Missed run out, unnecessary ping + lack of backing up causing overthrows, a lack of urgency in the field to cut off the second run.

Basically they were sloppy for most of the game.

Boland or Hazlewood?

Hopefully Boland. Man in form over man returning from injury. Would hate to see Boland miss then he likely doesn’t play in India. All of a sudden bowls too hard in the nets and gets a injury. Bang, no ashes and likely he is done.

Love Hazelnut but Boland is a freak at the moment

Boland is fit, firing and on form. Hazlewood is a really good bowler, but if he's 90% fit and its lineball between them, Boland HAS to play.

If they're both fully fit you'd think Hazlewood will keep his spot as the established third quick.

It's a great problem to have isn't it?

We are violently aligned on this!

Give JH one more test to get right. He did his side last summer and missed the whole season. Give him two more weeks to get 100 right.

This doesn't even consider the Boland effectiveness on the MCG pitch

.. he's seemingly effective everywhere though

If it's an MCG road (and let's not hope that becomes more of a certainty after Gabba) then I think it's Boland over Haze. Too risky coming in off an injury and having to bowl silly overs because teams can occupy the crease.
