Be very interesting later on to see what (if any) weight is given to the BBL in the IPL auction. Matt Short would have to be close to player of the BBL at the moment

As a Delhi man since the beginning, I'm glad we missed out. Huge (and silly) money for an unproven youngster in the format. It's a pity Delhi lost that bidding war, I reckon Ponting would've had Green's best interests in mind more than Mumbai will
In juniors and wheelie bin shit cricket you can take 3 steps down the track and the ball will still only be halfway down to the batsmen. Bit different in proper cricketI've never understood the uproar... the batsmen are trying to gain an advantage... it's one with risk. Fair play if you can get it but you have to cop it if you get caught.
Problem people have is that the consequence of getting caught is huge whereas the advantage gained is small but knowing that if you still try and gain the advantage then you need to be prepared to be dismissed.
I think in juniors/ammos giving warnings is fine but at the most senior levels you should know better.
That’s a shame. Real gun bowler. His country’s government doesn’t set the best examples though![]()
Sydney Thunder terminate Fazalhaq Farooqi's contract
The club received a complaint about his behavior after an incident and referred the matter to CA's integrity unit for investigationwww.espncricinfo.com
Suspect the complaint may have come from a woman
So you can sub out a dismissed batsmen for a new one, giving you 11 wickets to play with?Cam Green got $3.15 mill for essentially two innings.
Matt Short has an incredible year and a half of BBL and wouldn't go base price lol.
Also IPL is bringing in an X-Factor of sorts next year. But instead of our X-Factor (exactly 10 over mark first innings can't have batted yet or bowled more than an over) IPL is
- Essentially any time
- 4 Indian subs (can be international but only if you play 3 overseas to start which teams won't)
- A player can bat or bowl and be subbed out.
So the general strategy is to start your team a bowler short, have a Behrendorf type bowl up front to be subbed out for a Tye type.
Or have a pinch hitting slogger top of the order to be subbed out if/when he gets out and replaced by a stereotypical middle order batsman.
People have dumped on Starc a lot for sometimes being expensive and inconsistent with his bowling, but I guess to his credit he has repeatedly skipped the IPL and prioritised keeping his body fresh enough to play long-form cricket for his country. I definitely don't begrudge Green or anybody else for chasing absurd amounts of money for basically two months of cricket per year, but Starc has passed up a lot of money because he's putting his country (and probably his marriage) ahead of franchise cricket. In the IPL auction, Cam Green just got sold to the Mumbai Indians for $3.15 million.
Pathetic.![]()

Bruce Reid - one of my all time favourites. But a real case of 'what if?'. When fit was amazing.Harris and Bruce Reid the two best i've seen destroyed by injuries.
OK, I misunderstood this bit then:No, teams will still have 10 wickets in the shed and only bat 11 blokes.
Murali/Walsh/McGrath types will be able to play without having to bat if they don't want to (and some teams might build their teams that way, others might chase up a Gayle type to bat but rarely field.
You'd sub out your No. 11, no?Or have a pinch hitting slogger top of the order to be subbed out if/when he gets out and replaced by a stereotypical middle order batsman.

Shane Watson was another injury cursed guy we never saw the best of.
