I think they're trying to jam too much cricket in these days. The one day games are the ones I have the least interest in, too long for a casual fan and too short to have the intirgue of a test. I think the only reason they will survive is because the world cup format awesome.

They don't want the big bash finishing post school holidays. If you started the big bash around boxing day it might be able to work.

Main thing they should be changing is the number of tests. Poms often play 6-7+ tests in their home summer, we play 4 or 5. Play some more tests in October/November.

Yep - Big Bash would get all the Aussie stars plus a lot of the stars from the touring team hanging around to make some extra cash.

I don’t think so. The bigger factor is the money made through franchise T20s. Makes the international version secondary.

For me ODI cricket is the best of both worlds. 50 overs, can still defend an average total with great bowling and a better balance between bat and ball. Standardise bat sizing (maximum thickness through different parts of the bat and materials) so no longer ridiculous super bats and you have perfect cricket.

Guys like Starc, Richardson, Wade, Mitch Marsh are custom made for this form of cricket. Could also see the return of genuine medium pace specialist swing bowlers. Something I think the game now really misses.
