Ultimately it's another blown chance to win a series on English soil.

Statistically some pretty disappointing efforts and we're very lucky to have drawn the series.

We need to start transitioning the openers and bowlers now with some easier series upcoming.

Kawaja is older but he was the highest run scorer for the series .

Labuschange, head and warner all having series they would rather forget and our bowlers got spanked

Can’t help but think that the next Ashes Series on Australian soil is going to be ugly with some very unsavoury and aggressive crowd behaviour.
The crowd sledging I suspect will be raised a notch or two.
The Pommy crowds stooped to a new low and I think we will do likewise.
I mean even to Hurrah Hyphenated-Harry’s in the long room threw sledges never heard before.
It even bought some degree of shame and foreboding to those silver tails who wear the Egg and Bacon Blazers.

Poms will have a decent chance of winning back The Ashes if the two tactical muppets, McDonald and Cummins are still calling the shots.

What a pair of total tactical fu(wits they have been this tour, bleeding runs and head scratching field placements.
No point picking all rounders because Cummins underbowls them.
As CEO of the Fast Bowlers Union he won’t share the load adequately, and as we all know sometimes the part time bowlers are the ones that snag the breakthrough.
Cummins use of Marsh, Green and Murphy needs to be questioned when the tour review is conducted.

But has George Bailey and Co got the balls to do an extensive forensic review of what actually went wrong on the tour?????

Happy to have retained The Ashes but I can’t be help feel that we totally shat the bed at key moments and played conservatively into their hands.
The series had many moments, post the second test, where it looked like we were just going through the motions.

As for Warner thanks for your service but now it’s time to exit the game on an International level.

Oh and please selectors PLEASE blood some young openers in preparation for the next Ashes assault on home soil.
Don't worry Ronald MacDonald will give them all a big cuddle and tell them that they played their best .

Struggle to get a bowl in this side if your not born in NSW .

Series changed for England when Woakes came in, but our most similar bowler in Neser couldn't get a game.

This series turned on its head, our batters were mostly disappointing but some of the bowling was even worse.

Game 3 we lost it after lunch with stupid short bowling to let Wood smash it around when he was walking away from his stumps.

This game the 4 easy dropped catches (not counting the 5th harder one) in the first innings cost us big time.

That ball change is ridiculous, any official word on that? I'm sure they'll brush it away.

First two games we just did enough in the big moments, after that we lost it and couldn't handle the big moments save for Labuschagne getting us a draw last game.

Pretty poor result after being 2-0 up, considering test 3 and 5 we could have won and gave away good positions, but oh well, we retained the ashes at least.

Heard on the radio this morning that the box of balls has some of the old duke balls from last season in there which swing more and the seam stays harder .

It why the poms keep wanting to get the ball changed all series as the new season balls don't get anywhere near as much swing .

Luck of the draw I guess and England lucked out

England will celebrate drawing the series.

We're disappointed. Tells you enough.

it does and it doesnt.

Broad taking the last couple of wickets probably added to the celebratory vibe on field at the end of the game

but ****. there were some standout performances from some very average english cricketers (crawley, brook, bairstow) and some very poor performances from our "superstars"

Definitely, Lambuschagne had a stinker of series IMO.

Correct me if I'm wrong but more often than not the home side wins the series? Coming away with a draw and retention isn't the worst thing - but yeah obviously would've preferred a series win.

Lucked out all right. That ball replaced a dead one 37 overs old and immediately produced the highest lateral air and seam movement and the highest false shot percentage of the entire series.

Conspiracy chunky thinks that although the 2023 batch of Dukes balls were duds designed to do nothing, there were a few from previous years ready to go in the replacement box at the ashes venues to be swapped in when the shitty ball goes out of shape

Brook is far from average.

Not a conspiracy they were talking about it on the radio this morning. The box travels around the test tour but it's a mixed bag of balls from the last few seasons and this season .

Last seasons duke balls swung a ridiculous amount apparently this is why they changed them for the new which are softer and don't swing as much .

The constant badgering of the umpire it to get the ball changed in hope of one of last seasons balls .

How they allow for 2 different composition of balls in the same series and think it won't cause inequalities is baffling

It is going to be ******* hostile next time England come to Australia.
You'd like to think so but because our grounds are so big and so many of them want to escape their shithole country for a holiday the Ashes crowds in Australia still have a hefty English portion to them, especially on days that aren't Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

They can mostly lock us out with their small shitty grounds and with how hard it is for non-county members to get tickets.
