Still, you bank the early wins. Formlines mean nothing when you factor in a 2-3 month break with BBL etc.

Yeah unfortunately when Inglis isn’t available, there aren’t many options. I don’t think Whiteman keeps any more, and Bancroft would probably be better with the gloves but he’s also the best slip fielder, and it’s probably too much to ask him to keep and then open the batting while holding up a brittle batting lineup. So Philippe keeps playing even though his red ball returns last season and this one are more like what you’d expect from a guy who bats at 10 or 11.

Hit a six, looked fairly comfortable with Goodwin. Tried to sweep a full Manenti ball and made himself look a bit silly.

Credit to him though he would have been batting in pain but came back on and managed to add a few with Goodwin getting us closer to the win. Valuable little partnership

After that innings Goodwin should be moved to the number 3 spot for the next shield game against Queensland. I’d go with the following for team for that game.

Bowler wise questions marks on Paris being fit although he did bowl again & looked fine, while who knows if Morris will be managed once again. Richo should be fit while Stobbo is very unlucky to miss but would step in if Paris/Morris don’t play. Strong Team

Stobo has been a great pickup. Just looked at his FC stats & he's had a really nice start to his career. 42 wickets @ 22.61 & handy with the bat averaging 23.12 in 12 matches. Feel like he quietly goes about his business.
