Lel. He's still young, elite in the field, he's in his preferred position now and we've seen he can be a handy bowling option. Still a lot of development to come.

Got a perfect ball early this morning, the ones that move just a little are the ones good players edge early. It happens.

Serious question, Is it just me or does anyone else feel the death of test cricket world wide is fast approaching ? 20/20 seems to be the future of the game .

He is 24, he is young in terms of our test side but not by any other measure, he struggles to get wickets so much that marsh was preferred first before him to bowl and he bats like an old woman until he usually nicks one off.

He is apparently this elegant stroke maker but he doesn’t show it at test level at all. Certainly shouldn’t be considered a top 6 batsman currently.

Probably unless the relevant cricket boards can afford to pay their players as much as Indian billionaires can, which seems unlikely.

It's that the BCCI gets such a huge % of ICC revenue. If it was an even distribution between all test nations then we wouldn't see the huge drop off in test cricket.

Green will be mid thirties and about to retire and we will still be hearing:

“Ah he’s young and just needs game time. Gotta manage his body too so only limited overs”
Yeah hard to imagine a fast bowling allrounder turning into something if he's not dominating by 25.

On an unrelated note, hasn't Mitch Marsh been good this summer.

Will be one of the least convincing Test hundreds I've seen provided Head gets there, but I guess you need to make the most of luck when you get it.

In what regard? Looked scratchy and had some luck go his way? He's a mile past our next best so far. I was fully expecting him to throw it away early by not changing gears as wickets fell around him but from what I can tell he has picked his moments to preserve and then attack.

He's put away the bad balls and put the Windies under pressure but yeah, he's had a fair slice of luck, which was basically my point.

Always need a bit of luck on a pitch that’s giving a bit to the bowlers

Head missed out against Pakistan but that’s a very valuable innings when only one other batter has got to 50

Oddly Joseph at 11 looked as comfortable as anyone on this pitch
