I really enjoyed the all star line-up whitewash of 2006/7 and Mitch Johnson's Revenge but this may become my favourite Ashes series.

Never seen such a solid hit on the stumps go unrewarded. So unlucky.

Must confess that in junior cricket I did nick the stumps without the bails going off. Nothing like that though. Bluddy annoying as a bowler.
Potentially the worst one however was when the stumps weren't put in straight and I put one just under the bails, went between the stumps and touched nothing.
Credit to the opposition coach who was umpiring. He went to the batting end and tested that the ball could go through and then in the spirit of the game gave his player out. And fixed the stumps before continuing.

If more than a few overs are lost due weather it's hard to see a result.
If the England tail holds on for 50 overs and 150 runs then time and overs suggest a draw, even if no play lost.

Only chance is quick outs, Aus bats for 250 runs by mid session 3 and then we have a full day and 1/2 a session to get 10 wickets. No rain. Unlikely though.

Can’t believe the volume of numbskull takes on Twitter about Green’s batting so far this series.

Ok he hasn’t set the world on fire with the blade this summer but I would have thought he’s worth persisting with; particularly given they’ve backed in Harris who arguably has been far worse given he’s purely a bat and poor to average in the field.

Green is 22, averages near on 50 at FC level (with a best of 251) and bowls 140km/h seamers which are more than handy. Also a gun fielder in the gully.

The shit takes are mainly from muppets in NSW or Victoria. Pumping for Henriques (lol) or Maxwell to play at 6.

Pressure off in the second innings, bit like Michael Clarke when he first started.
Started under a bit of pressure today, England were on a roll and we weren't far enough ahead in the game to be comfortable.

The difference is that in the second innings there's runs on the board from the first, there's less pressure to 'preserve' his wicket and thus a little more freedom to bat naturally.

Yeah he looks so much better when he looks to score. When he starts to believe he belongs with the bat he'll be a pretty special player.

He believes in the field (best we've had in gully for years) and he's there with the ball.
