Is there an official A side announced? Some of those Australia A teams of the past have just been a token side put together, made up of a few up and coming fringe State players and a couple of old heads. I can remember Darcy Short and Max Bryant opening up for the A side not long ago in a 4 day game for example.

Perth is expected to lose the fifth Ashes Test this week but the WA Government has a bold plan to snatch the second Test off coronavirus-hit Adelaide.... in a desperate last-ditch attempt to avoid a second consecutive summer without Test cricket in Perth, Sport and Recreation Minister Tony Buti now wants to swap the second and fifth Tests.

It would mean quarantine-free travel from Brisbane after the first Test, provided the Sunshine State stays COVID-free between now and when the teams and broadcast crew fly in ahead of the Test, which is due to start on December 16.
“If cricket isn’t able to meet our border rules for the fifth Test in Perth, then they should move the second Test to Perth instead. It’s a no-brainer,” Buti said.

I never thought of him as a chucker. As far as I'm concerned, when he was assessed by the biometric experts at UWA that should have been the end of it.

Let's be honest, our covid rules have been in place for quite a while. There was always a serious chance that having us host after Sydney or Melbourne would be problematic.

For the WA government and Cricket Australia to not have worked out a plan that at least had a semblance of working is pretty amateur from both parties.

It's absolutely baffling when people put Murali ahead of Warne IMO. Sure Warnie had trouble keeping off the pies and the diuretics but Murali sent down thousands of illegal balls and had a very good umpire hatcheted for daring to enforce the laws of the game as they stood.

Warne got rubbed out for a year for his indiscretion and Murali got the laws of the game changed and kept on rolling
