Have you seen Finch's form as an opener for the past 3 years

So get someone else in then? Try Inglis as an opener since he does it for the Scorchers

They've put up with Finch's loss of form for a long time now.
They're not sacking him a few weeks before the WC.
CA have been doing the "pick the captain, then pick the team" thing for more than a decade now. Unfortunately this has meant when the captain plays a specific position (wicket-keeper, opener) potential replacements stack up form behind them and don't get a look in.

Seriously?

He's hardly made a run in 2 years.
And when he has got a score, his strike rate has been poor.
Averaged basically 28 at 124 in both 2021 and 22. Strike rate isn't great but with how the team is set up these days, assuming Smith stays out, I think he can work as the anchor role. I'd keep him at 4 over opening though.

I agree with him batting at 4 and replacing Smith.
Unfortunately, he's going back to opening which will be disaster.

Matt Kelly already our best all-rounder
If we count wicketkeepers as all-rounders, we can field more than a whole side:

Whiteman
Bancroft
M Marsh
Inglis
Green
Cartwright
Turner
Stoinis
Philippe
Short
Hardie
Agar

Kelly might get a game if we only pick one keeper :)

could have played one game in canberra and 2 in perth...perth where we havent had a mens international for more than 2 years and surely are owed some love from CA

instead they have 2 in canberra, where its cold and wet and the crowd is small.

****ing moronic.

Too far for the precious players to travel mate.
That's why they only sent half a team.

Finch is saying the players are fatigued. Which leads to the question of why they've kept the same 12-13 players (Perth excepted) rather than rotating for the last three months.

Half the side never went to the sub continent anyway.

Good way to divert the attention away from Finch's form I guess.
