Oh no they declared.

That's woeful
100% the right decision to declare, we'll need every available moment if we want to force a win.

No such thing as dead rubbers with the Test Championship these days.

Robbed of a good Test to finish holidays. Sydney sucks.
We were robbed of a good Test to start the holidays. Or any during.

I think the series away in India will be epic, though.

Yeah he’d be on par. Think Carberry sucked but he may have had one or two decent scores but he also came to us straight after being a meme in the 2013 Ashes
I maintain that Carberry was actually quite undeserving of the blame that he took after that series. He had quite a lot of starts, scoring in the 30s and 40s, but never was able to go on with them. He also had some really unlucky dismissals - ball trickling back into the stumps, a couple of balls that he crushed but right at a fielder who made a good catch, caught down leg side at least once, marginal LBW decisions.

Anyway, facing the new ball in Australia against what is usually an elite pace attack is difficult for any player, let alone someone like Carberry who's just trying to get started in test cricket. I think it was easy for England cricket to just dump Carberry after the whitewash because he was in his early to mid 30s and, unlike the other English underachievers in that series (which included the likes of Root and Stokes), he didn't really have the high ceiling or age on his side for the selectors to continue backing him in.

That's a catch. As was the Marnus one.

Those frame by frame replays make everything seem like it's grassed.

I personally think there is a key difference between the two. The smith one was clean into the hand, the one Labuschagne got away with was at most 1 finger underneath.

To me if it's clean into the hand and doesn't bobble control is straight away. If the ball only goes into a finger or bobbles then it's not controlled. That is the key difference between the two to me. As far as im concerned because of this the first third umpire decision was correct, the second was incorrect. However i'm of the opinion here that the decision should be fully on the umpires on the ground with only a challenge being able to change it. None of this soft signal shit or going to the third umpire straight away to see if it's deemed a clean catch. (yes i know the one today was challenged)

Calls for changing the Sydney test to a day/night match so bad light isn’t a factor or even just using a pink ball regardless. Because as we all know pink balls also stop the rain

Day/night ruled out because it would clash with the BBL schedule. You know what wouldn’t clash with the BBL schedule- holding the test at another time when it doesn’t rain

The obvious answer is staring them in the face but the NSW centric cricket admin won’t consider it

Cooper Connolly to debut for the Scorchers tonight - one to watch
I’ll be at the game. Only other time I’ve been to Optus was a boring BBL game that we lost, so I’m hoping the injuries don’t ruin it again this time around
