Sydney Thunder’s marquee man David Warner earned roughly $80,000 for a second-ball duck in Sunday’s Big Bash match against the Hobart Hurricanes before shoving Australian teammate Matthew Wade in an incident that could land the pair in hot water.

According to sources close to Warner, who spoke anonymously because of the nature of the details, the opener’s lucrative short-term contract with the Thunder is worth approximately $400,000, paid by Cricket Australia and the BBL team.

No one excelled. Eskinazi was solid without dominating, and Hatzoglou did pretty well.
We lost by six runs to the other form side at home without our best bowler.

Our tail is long, however.

I've always thought we're one of the better teams in the comp, more than the sum of the parts.

And we're not overly reliant on some international's brilliance to win several games.

Something just came up and it said AB Devillers is 38. I totally forgot how young he was when he retired. I know he had a few injury troubles but at 33 he had plenty of cricket left. He was just shy of 9k test runs and wasn’t far off 10 ODI runs. Could have entrenched himself into the top 10 of both Test and ODI runs lists had he played a few more years

Personally think he didn't want to deal with the bullshit of the South African administrators. Realistically even at half his best would be starting number 3 for SA even now. 2 of their other best batsmen also no longer play for SA.

Not a Warner fan but over his slander. We actually haven’t had many options to replace him till recently. Renshaw recently regained form and Hunt has slowly been coming up the ranks. By 2024 both those two will be ready to replace uzzi and warner.

Comes across as a massive campaigner and I take great joy in seeing him get out for such puny run counts.
