Have the curators done anything wrong really? Seems and easy excuse for shitting the bed at the selection table.

Warner at the back end of his career still hasn’t learnt to face right arm opening bowlers around the wicket.

The no name hopeless middle order that you’re referring to - presumably Renshaw and Handscomb - played every match in the last test series in India, the one that Australia very nearly won. And Australia played that entire series with a similar attack, two quicks and two spinners, and then the occasional over from Mitch Marsh or Glenn Maxwell.

The last test series in India??? Thats reaching almost into the credits in the bank era. Since then renshaw and hanscomb have played how often?

Have you seen how they prepared the pitch?
It's pretty much tantamount to cheating.

Not that I think the pitch had anything to do with today BTW.

You know what’s more fun that watching this test match…stirring up Indian fans lurking on the fox cricket Twitter feed. They just can’t help themselves…

Ask them what the Indian equivalent of Bunnings is. They'll love it.

I think it's more an issue with the opponent entering the contest in bad faith.

India would towel us up just rolling out pitches prepared to normal ranji trophy standard, so playing silly buggers seems both pointless and poor form.

I can understand the selectors wanting another right hander in Handscomb after they saw the pitch but it makes absolutely no sense to play Renshaw over Head. Head earnt his right to be a regular in the team. He was arguably our best player in the last series and scored runs on some tricky pitches. I think Australia outsmarted itself.
It was also a really poor batting display, a lot of the wickets were just missed straight ones.

I don't think I've seen Cummins bowl that bad first up before either. Over pitched and drifted onto the pads way too much.
On the plus side Murphy looked pretty good.

We better come out breathing fire today or the game will slip away.

While everyone is talking about Australia vs India, the real competition (Sheffield Shield) is back. Today WA are taking on the sad sack Redbacks. The WA XI:

Bancroft
Whiteman
S Marsh (c)
Cartwright
Hardie
Inglis (wk)
Stoinis
Kelly
Stobo
Rocchiccioli
Moody

First match of the season for Marsh and Stoinis playing first class cricket for the first time in a very long while. Pretty thin pace attack with Jhye injured as per usual, Morris in India, and Paris not named for some reason.

Unless something majour happens in the 2nd innings drop Warner.
Heads well and truly earnt a place.
Not that it'll happen and probably be unpopular but I'd like to see Smith reinstated captain.

What, no Paris? Injured?

Hardie any chance to bowl? Think I read somewhere he was being protected from that as he's coming back from injury

I wouldn't have dropped Teague Wylie for Stoinis, but that's just me.
