Neither Bancroft nor Harris are good enough.

Given Khawaja is 36 also, it’s a bit of an issue in the near future.
Would like to see Bancroft got another chance, he was discarded very quickly in the Ashes

Ashes means more but India in India would be the bigger achievement

Would also be good to get one back on them since they have won the last two series in Australia

With both Warner and Khawaja on the way out if we don't have the quality of openers coming through realistically we just need to find 1 guy who is great defensively and can hold up one end of the strike to begin the innings.

I dont give a **** if they have a career strike rate of 35, if they can use the right technique in defence against great quicks and have the footwork to get to the pitch of the ball against spinners then that is all we need. Even if they average 30.

Tests are a 5 day game and in tough batting conditions our batsmen just wilt under sustained great bowling as they dont have the mindset to see off the first few overs of a bowlers spell and then pick up a few more runs as the bowlers tire. In the first 4 overs of a bowlers spell you literally only need 2 bad balls. You put those away and you're still getting 2 runs an over on average and you pick it up from there.

Or in India we literally play T20 cricket with the batting. 5 Batsmen, 2-3 all rounders, keeper and 3 specialist bowlers. We seem a 50/50 chance of only scoring 150 an innings anyway. So you might get out for 100, but going hard at the bowlers bazball style from ball 1 you're just as likely to score 400.

Due to injuries and the selectors really being poor in my opinion it's a complete **** up. If Marsh is batting at 5,Hardie at 6, Green at 7 and Inglis or Carey at 8 you then pick your best pace bowler for the conditions (that isn't the captain in India imo) and 2 spinners. Head at 2, Labuschagne at 3, Smith at 4. You just have to pick your defensive opener. Just hold up one end. You then have 7/8 bowling options. That is your Bazball option.

I know which one I'd rather watch.....

To have ANY chance in this test we need to be still batting at stumps.

I don't think we can bat out a day over there but we need to today

Really?

If we can get another 200 we're a good chance.

Time batted doesn't really matter IMO.
Just have to keep being positive.

India got flogged in the first test in Australia last time and bounced back well. I can see Australia doing something similar in this series.

Ashwin surely the biggest knob in world cricket. Our bats should pull away while he’s in his delivery stride every over if he’s gonna keep that nonsense up.
