The problem is, you've got to pay the bills and I don't think test cricket does that.
Test cricket is a money loser unless you're Australia/India/England. There's a reason after this series, every upcoming series between the three will be 5 tests long, and every series not involving them will be two tests long.

Surely there can’t be any sensible reason as to why they don’t want to always have a deciding match and Series winner?

I suspect it's because it's easier to force the drawn series if you lose the first lot. Some teams would prefer not losing to trying to win.

Why don’t all Test Series’ have an odd number of matches?

There's no need when it comes to first class cricket. A drawn match is a 1 in 3 possibility. e.g. a 2-2 drawn series is a likely outcome in a 5 Test series.

Good to see the aussies still have the review system sorted… huge edge first ball of the day and they don’t review.

Jeez how's this pitch behaving? Test could be done in 2 days. If the Indians struggle against Kehunemann it will be very interesting to see how we go against Ashwin and Jadeja

Ashwin will probably try to get out first ball so that he can bowl as soon as possible the way this pitch is going.
