Some of Philippe’s straight drives. Phwoar absolute beauties.

All will be forgiven for his red ball season average of 12 if he goes on to ton up tomorrow.

Who knows? Only 15 wickets in 2 days so far. But yeah, a draw is unlikely.

Showers forecast for both Saturday and Sunday, so lots of scenarios to play out yet.

Not sure why we sent them in first. Are runs on the board in a final not a thing any more. Even if we get a small lead they can put on a 200+ total which is hard to chase in the second innings.
I was wondering the same. The best I could come up with is that in 5 day games (or any game really) the pitch has the most life in it early before flattening out. So if you take the view that the primary objective for the first two days is to take the BP lead, then perhaps its advantageous to bowl first. You also get the advantage of knowing the BP equation when it's your turn to bat.

The flipside is, you have to bat last.

I think you have nailed the rational.

Well done we reached 200 and still batting, therefore depriving the Vics of a bowling bonus point.

Another 50 - 60 runs in the context of this game would be terrific.

For those in the know- how do the batting bonus points work ?

Whoever hits the most boundaries by the 10 over mark wins
