Also, keenly waiting for a Forward Press prediction...

and offer.

If we win I will give everyone a free BJ.

If we draw I will give everyone a BJ at cost price.

If we lose I will give myself a BJ.

Well played Travis Head. Great knock to come in at an awkward position just after lunch and peel off a near run a ball century is a fair effort

Nice support role from Smith to put us in a strong position after day 1

The decision to bowl first given the cloud pissed off quicker than the rellies at a wedding when the bar tab runs out is a bad one in hindsight.

Worse than no Ashwin though? Hmmm
Bowling first with no ashwin (and no bumrah) is why I knew we’d win by an innings

Umesh and Thakur don’t cut it against this batting line up

One thing I don't really understand are the naming conventions with South Asian players.

I know it's different from country to country but for example:

Why do we say or used to say Sharma in Aus when he's more commonly referred to as Rohit in India?

Maybe you can help my ignorant asss THE A5 ?
It’s because the order in which names are listed isn’t the same in every country as it is in western countries.

ie the ‘first’ name is often the family name and vice versa. Same as heaps of Asian countries like China too.

The conventions vary heaps across India to my knowledge as there’s massive cultural and linguistic diversity across the country compared to what most people might realise.

So across the team I assume there’d be people whose first names are their family names and some whose middle or last names are. Because Australians are used to the western model, it’s often the case that the last name gets referenced in cricket coverage, but for some players that’s like calling them Peter or Steve rather than Sumich or Waugh.

I think, anyway

Take a bow Travis Head!

Comes in with the situation precariously balanced 3/70ish

Crunches a ¬ run a ball 140 odd. Smith playing the anchor role superbly.

India bowled without much luck...feel like the pitch had plenty in it to create wicket taking chances.

Could be the rain late in the test saves India? I reckon the pitch will give our quicks enough to be very dangerous.

Is there a spare day for this test? I seem to recall they schedule 6 days in case a day is lost.
How are the own goals from team Inda though? Dropping your number one wicket taker for a guy who has a fairly ordinary record outside of the sub continent and then winning the toss and bowling to have them 3/330 at stumps.
Love to see it.

I think you're right, there's a reserve day.

India hasn't won an ICC tournament since 2011 and hopefully that remains that way with the WTC.

They've become serious chokers, having been in the top echelon in all formats during that time.

I wonder if the pressure is so immense now on Indian cricketers, that this will keep happening.

The early 2010s was when internet adoption really sky rocketed in India, with the popularisation of smart phones, specifically cheaper Android ones.

My theory is that the players are under such insane pressure from their massive, fanatical following and with greater access, they're seeing it all the time. There's no escape.

At least Indian fans are fairly magnanimous. **** being a Chinese hero and then failing. Brutal.

Aren’t indian fans known to vandalise/burn cricketers homes? Surely the Chinese aren’t that bad
