Reckon too much mental energy went into preparing for the series and all of the drama of the first two tests. Players look cooked, especially CumminsWhat’s happened to us? Have we gotten complacent? Cummins looks a shell of himself and our batters have made poor shots and often thrown away their wickets. Lyon’s loss to injury was perhaps the biggest turning point.
Marsh may not be fit given he didn't bowl.5th Test selections, Murphy the obvious in. Is Starc fit enough to keep going? Sure hope so. We need him. Any other bowling changes? Neser for Hazelwood? I doubt they do that, Hoff just took a 5-for, albeit a poor one. But someone who can hoop it a bit (and bat) would be handy.
Hate to say it, but Green makes way for Murphy, unless he produces with the bat to save this Test.

Should've retired when he made his double ton in Sydney but he will have to be pushed.Warner ffs retire mate
This.
Hard to see Green keep his spot unless he goes big this innings.
A test ago we narrowly lost a game that would've put us 3-0 up away against the stronger English team in a long time, right after winning the world test championship, and we've also won a series in Pakistan, drawn a series in Sri Lanka, and been as competitive in India as we've been for 20 years.
This test has been a disgrace and they clearly need to re-evaluate how they deal with the workload Cummins has but I think suggesting the entire coaching staff and leadership group should be sacked is over the top.
We still beat a very good team. England had lost two games total under McCullum/Stokes before this series, one by 1 run, and most of their home tests they've absolutely smashed India/NZ/SA. There's obviously issues but I'd put a lot of that down to Cummins looking physically and mentally spent after 5 tests in 6 weeks.* off it is. yeah we won the first 2 but if England play foakes instead of bairstow, they win at least one of those 2.
we’ve been incredibly lucky to snag those wins.
if you can’t see there is an absolute ******* vacuum in leadership with this team you are not watching.
Which is why bowling captains are so rare. It's not like you can take a breather down at fine leg to gather your thoughts between overs. It's a constant state of having to be 100% switched on, all day. And then you've got all the off-field duties at stimps.I do feel sorry for Pat. A bowling captain is the toughest of gigs. You've gotta think about your own bowling as well as moves, fielding positions, etc, and you have to be thinking 2-3 overs ahead at all times. On top of that you're getting tonked around, backing up for your 5th test in about 6 weeks, dropping catches in the field.... Not fun times.

It's why Lyon out is such a blow, you could pencil him in for 30-35 overs a day, he'd set his own fields, keeps the run rate low.I do feel sorry for Pat. A bowling captain is the toughest of gigs. For sure, but we very nearly won without him last Test. Leaving out Murphy was a selection blunder and it has cost us badly so far. It may yet be redeemed if rain and Greeny can save the day but I won't be putting money on it.It's why Lyon out is such a blow, you could pencil him in for 30-35 overs a day, he'd set his own fields, keeps the run rate low.
I won’t gloat…but I was ahead of the curve.
green should be a long term part of the test team…but not if he doesn’t improve. Can’t keep picking someone on potential after 3 yrs.
