Depth of talent in the BBL is a problem

Each team is down at least one quality international from what used to be the norm and there’s ~15-20 Australian players unavailable through national duties or being managed.

And I don’t see how it’s likely to improve either

They could stop managing players they have no intention of picking unless there's an injury.

Bowling cartel don't want rotations because it upsets their rhythm but the next in line are on permanent standby and unable to play. Then they justify not picking them because they "haven't been knocking the door down".

Maybe if you ****ing let them play more than once a month...

Simple fix is to not have Aus playing international cricket during the BBL, but seeing as the BBL is best run during school holidays some very hard decisions would have to be made.

It was a callback to some posts I made last season when they had Roussouw and Farooqi along with Hales who was in good form.

Sams is a weird one - had one season where he killed it with the bat and got contracts all around the world, but has been more of a bowler since.

Warner will play a few games after he retires from tests, which will make a difference but their squad does look pretty thin
