I would've thought "doing best for the team" would be batting guys like Marsh and Head in the positions they were originally chosen for and are doing well in.

Like Hussey said yesterday, just pick best opening bat that's available.
Easier said than done, as it depends on your personal rankings of the options. We're not back in Hussey's days where he had to wait and we were spoiled for options (even then several players who opened weren't exclusively opening batsmen also).

I think Harris is the Christmas cracker joke of options. Just no.

Renshaw is super flaky.

Bancroft I don't consider international standard - just another Burns who will always knick off - but of all the options I hope he's chosen and I'm proven wrong.

Etc etc.

Those 5 wides brought up a half century of extras… woof

Second highest ever ranking n Australia apparently

West Indies conceded 58 in 1989 - 40 no balls

So says the stats guy on MMM

I’d have Turner captain too. Love the Bison but Turner’s leadership in both the ODD’s and BBL have been funny.

This is a funny thing to say since Aus just won the ODI WC but WA one day team would be competitive against Aus too.

Cameron Bancroft
Cam Green
Mitch Marsh
Aaron Hardie
Josh Inglis (+)
Ashton Turner (c)
Tim David
Ashton Agar
Jhye Richardson
AJ Tye
Jason Behrendorff

I mean shoot, even the second XI is handy. Dare say the below side beats the Renegades last night also.

Josh Philippe
Sam Whiteman (+)
Shaun Marsh (c)
Hilton Cartwright
Marcus Stoinis
Cooper Connolly
Clint Hinchcliffe
Nathan Coulter-Nile
Joel Paris
Hamish McKenzie
Lance Morris

I think Short was born in NT, but could easily slot into that second XI also.

Trent Copeland critiquing Carey’s batting technique is quite hilarious. Imagine getting batting advice from a shield level number 11. I’d probably retire

Copeland has a FC ton and 8 50s.

Definitely not a number 11.

Average of 16. Regardless is still funny a bowler talking about batting technique. There’s a few in the commentary that’s qualified to do it

He’s from New South Wales though

They know everything

Just ask them

Watched it a few times now and I'm still not sure how Cummins managed to catch that ball in his right hand.

Huge Inglis fan and at times thought Inglis should have gotten a test call up but is Carey even close to being dropped? Also it feels like due to Aus commitments Inglis has hardly had any red ball games over the last couple years.
Tho with head/Marsh/Inglis it will be three attacking batsmen in a row.

Carey's improved his keeping (was much better in India than I was expecting) but his batting has fallen right off. He is lucky that Inglis has spent most of the last two red ball seasons running the drinks.

I don’t see Carey being dropped but I didn’t see him being dropped when he was dropped in the ODI’s. That said Australia are more conservative with keepers in red ball cricket

He was dropped at the start of a World Cup, we don't have a test that important for 12 months.
