The Heat are the team to beat this year IMO, especially with Bancroft leaving the Scorchers.
I said the Heat would win pre-tournament, I stick by it. The way they're digging their way out here is Scorcher-like.
Loved that stat that the Heat have only used 3 bowlers in the PP all season.
They are very well-drilled and all know their roles. Hard to see them not winning the whole thing this season.

Its a myth. We won chasing in the final and semi final of BBL13 and the most recent T20 and ODI WCs we won.Runs on the board.
Basic s**t that pretty much every losing side failed to remember.
Look at the batting lineups. You need to apply some context. Its a myth. We won chasing in the final and semi final of BBL13 and the most recent T20 and ODI WCs we won.
Not a myth at all.Its a myth. We won chasing in the final and semi final of BBL13 and the most recent T20 and ODI WCs we won.
I'm not saying you bat first in every game.Wasn’t that long ago where every t20 team seemed to be preferring to chase, international matches included. Remember it was a bit of an anomaly that the scorchers would always choose to bat first. Makes sense it’d depend on batting depth though
Season before if you take out the heavily DLS effected 5th final, literally the exact opposite happened. 4 finals, 3 sides won the toss and batted and lost, only the side who decided to bowl then won. It's a mythIn the 4 finals this year, in the 3 games where the side winning the toss opted to bowl, all lost.
Only Brisbane who decided to bat in their second final won.

Batting first was definitely the way to go in this year's finals.Historically, batting first in big finals was considered an advantage. And it was. These days the mindset has shifted and any advantage is far less clear.
At amateur level it's still a clear advantage batting first. Run chases are less easily achieved the lower down the rungs you get, all else being equal. In all my years of playing I never once won a final chasing anything over 200.
