Hopefully, on retirement, he will be given the full set of kudos he clearly deserves - Richo. Think of it MCG Round 22 one of these years How many people would be there at his farewell game. Not Just Richmond fans however fans in general. What a sad day that will be :(

How long does he have left is anyone's guess.

I say at the end of 2010 after he is 50/50 at the end of 2009 but realises he can't leave because he wants to play more finals :)

His last game will be a final and will be a loss.

depending on how his body holds up, i'd say 2009 would be his last year. maybe even 2010.
wouldnt it be a shame if he did retire in 2010 and we ended up winning a flag a couple of years after that.

\

32 this year. play like he does for 2 or 3 more years. then lynchy it up for 3 or 4 more years when we are having a tilt at the flag. that fit he could play 5-6 more years.

2011 premiership may be his last unless he wants to play one more season in 2012 ;)

Wishful thinking there hopefully your right. Hopefully he does have many more years left. When that day comes a big send off he will get :)

Luv u richo :)

If Jack and Cleve both become top 50 players in the comp then Richo won't play for much longer.

He'll "gracefully step aside" no doubt, I can't see him just being plonked in the goalsquare unless his body forces him to stay in the square.

But I agree, he could well play another 5-6 seasons if 3 of those are as a stay at home FF.

He's missed a total of 3 years worth of matches through injury IIRC.

I'm sure he would be the best forward pocket option we've got in 2012... but gee that's a big ask to have him out there at 37 years of age! I'm sure he can do it :)

His last game should be in a Grand Final where he kicks 7 goals and we win a close game and he gets the Norm Smith.

Edit: THe "Riiiiicccccchhhhhhooooooo" chants will continue long after he has left the ground :)
...but he won't be coming back.

That will be one of the saddest days of my life and many other tiger fans as well mate. What a story it would be if we can somehow get this man some success and he goes out on the biggest day of em all :)

Will play in his current capacity for two more years, maybe three.
Given his ability to play injured I predict he will move solely to the goalsquare and not move from the confines of the 10m square for another 8 years.
After that Richo will be refreshed and will get his 2nd wind, and play on crutches as roaming flanker in the 50m arc for another four years and still be in the top 10 endurance athletes in the AFL.
With father time creeping up, at age 47 Richo will resign himself to life in the goalsquare for the next 5 years with the aid of a wheelchair (not the motorised type for our Richo mind you, one of them old-fashioned hand-operate ones) and still be able outsprint Kepler Bradley who at this stage will be captain of Essendon at age 35, futher signalling the ailing club's plight not having won a game in 16 years, once again sounding alarm bells about Kevin Sheedy's ability to coach at the top level.
Then when retirement beckons in 2027, I'm tipping the great man will have 12 more years as a specialist kicker, a new position created by master coach Terry Wallace in 2025. Richo's pin-point accurate kicking, aided by a bionic leg, will revolutionise the game in such a way, that behinds are virtually a thing of the past.
In 2039 Richo contemplates retirement and but plays out the final five years of his contract as an on-ground forward coach, another new initiative by Wallace where a player is stationed solely in the forward line to direct other players on where to lead and where to create space, similar to the baseball diamond coaches in MLB who tell batters whether they should run to base or not.
Richo finally retires in 2045 with nothing left to prove and plans to spend his days watching his triplet sons Seth, Michelob and Conan (recruited under the father son rule) dominating the Richmond forward line for the next two decades.

Keep tuggin', tugga ;)

i think the time has come for richo to bulk up like he did in his last season with frawley and play out of the goal square as a big gorrila full forward with schultz as the leading hit up target and no-one else in the forward 50. sides will no doubt play a loose man in defence however with shultz leading up and richo in the square we should be able to have one of the two in a one on one contest. and if sides decide to put two loose men in defence well then we should be within striking distance of any team and much more competitive than we are at the minute allowing our young kids to learn the game without the big blowouts. and most importantly it should allow richo to play untill his late 30's no worries imo.

p.s. im pretty sure richo kicked a massive bag in his last year when he was roughly 10kg heavier than he is know. may have been frawleys 2nd last season.

:thumbsu: lol now that is funny and so worth reading. I would hope by the year 2045 that we would of had enough success for the big man to give this sport away. I still think Richo in a wheel chair we would get a lot more from him then what we would with some of the players currently on our list. The best thing Richmond should do now is take Johnson in have a word with him and make the great man richo captain till he gives it away. That is something i really want to see Kane Johnson do us all a fav and give the top job to richo :) As he bleeds yellow and black more then any player that plays with us.

so what would be his games and goals tally at the end of it all:confused:

Richo has not given one ounce of indication that his body is not up to playing for at least another three years. His only downfall will be either another knee injury - which WILL finish him - or his hamstrings start up again.

He'll still be there in 2010... absolutely no doubt about that.
