The AFL know exactly what we're really paying Vickery. How else are they meant to know if clubs are breaching the salary cap?
They know we are paying him 1 millon over two years.
The deal we negotiated unofficially with Ty was a three year deal for a million and change.
We then offically made it 500k p.a over two for Richmonds benefit with everyone aware he will be on minimum wage in year 3.
The AFL know but there is nothing they can do.
We even put it in the ******* press release.

If over a mil is what it takes to land a few superstars im all for it. A few years ago any of Hodge, Franklin, Rioli and Burgoyne would have commanded huge dollarydoos at other clubs.

We got them relatively cheap via the draft and trades, so splashing the cash is the easiest way to bring in the new crop with our poor draft and trade position.

Not having a first round draft pick will be glorious if a Dusty-type can come across.

The thing with Vickery is we will know whether this rumour / media hysteria is true or not at the end of next year. He won't be getting a third year unless we already agreed to it.

Yeah Rookie wage or not I doubt he warrants a spot on the list in 2019.

Bushrangers, Kings,
You got a link to anything that suggests Jaeger is 3.5 mill over 5 years ? Not saying your wrong I just haven't seen anything about it.

I don't have a link. I recall when he nominated us and the offer was on the table the Suns then came in with a counter offer of 900k a year x 5 years to try and get him to reconsider.

IF and it's a big IF the lad plays good footy for the next 4 years then the deal/ pay he is on will be considered a bargain.

(We just got to find a way to get him playing again)

Hmmmmm......

Mitchell = Brians bargins

The strange thing was the swans had him on 500k a year 4 years ago and it was considered a huge amount for what he had delivered at that stage so when he came out again and the swans couldn't increase his salary then he was goneski.

Kurt on a Mill a season has hurt them big time.

One thing's for certain. Win 3-4 of these last games and Free Agents will be licking their lips at joining a rebounding Hawthorn with the master coach.
Be kind of energizing, seeing yourself partnering with a behemoth club with lots of nice young players and the opportunity to be judged as having played a significant part in catapulting the Hawks back into top 4 and dicing for cups.
Step up young guns-with-stones who want to join the honor wall.
I totally agree with this Flinch....

The heartless, scrappy mess at the start of the year would not have been very appealing to prospective FA's.

Now, there's a chance to be part of a resurgence that has already started...

Dusty... come on down.....

My boss was telling workmate today that he recently met Richmond Prez Gary March. March told him Tigers are very confident of keeping Martin.
Wishful thinking perhaps? Who knows.

Edit: EX-Prez Gary March (silly me)
