Two interesting posts , could they be linked in some way ?

The optimist in me hopes you are suggesting we may snare Dusty and Rocky. That would make me happier than a dog with two tales.

The realist in me wonders if you are inferring we cannot afford Dusty so we may get Rocky instead.

Even the pessimist in me is confident the club is working hard on our future.

Looking forward to the trade period and next season. Go Hawks!

Then 'jackets' Dodoro allegedly came in with the mega deal, so wouldn't surprise if JaM was right up there in the million dollar club for 5 years. Regrettably we may never see the real Jaegar playing as he should be playing, because of that dodgy knee.
Some footballers are stupid, some are really stupid.
Jaeger is too professional & way to smart to even consider going to Essendon.

Caro reporting tigers have increased dusty offer to $1m a season. He will stay. Especially with them on the up.
Kelly and lever the only real "big fish" that look set to leave. Reckon it's Saints or Blues for kelly. Both have much better lists than North Melbourne.
Lever would be massive to get. This current back line has done a brilliant job in recent weeks, but adding a lever to help out Frawley and brand would be massive.
Whitfield and hopper are "medium" fish and either would be a perfect fit. Whitfield
To replace hartung on a wing. Hopper in the guts with Mitchell and omera would be massive

Don't get me wrong I'm on high Lever but would you classify him as a big fish alongside the likes of Martin and Kelly ? I'd have him more in the Whitfield type bracket ( Yes I know Whitfield is contracted for 2018)

I'm happy with a medium fish to be honest. We gotta leave money to go after a gun key forward in the next couple of years via FA. I'd hate to be spending money on the likes of Casboult or Reid this year.

You'd be absolutely crazy to be doing that, but the reality is not many key forwards are floating about, Tom Lynch will be the one that everyone is after.

It's an interesting discussion...Martin and kelly are clearly the top two but are mids..if you watch lever closely, he has the potential and game to be a top 5 defender in the league. Having two top line key defenders is crucial. Especially with hawthorn's current list. Gibson is finished. Birchall and Stratton wont be part of the next flag. Frawley is getting on as well. Brand is a decent player but will never reach elite status. Burton needs to play midfield. Gunston and Sicily have been stop gaps this year to cover injuries. A key defender is absolutely crucial.

We are actully well stocked for the dev.Smith type imo.

Shiles, WX can both play the role he plays at GWS in the midfield and we are well stocked on pressure small forwards.
