Devon Smith is like a poor mans Breust and a poor mans Shiels put together. Forward rotating in the middle but doesn't exceed at either role.

He can pop out a 3 vote game every now and then and go 30+ and kick 3 or 4 but more often then not it's the 15 touch 1-2 goal experience. Makes up for it with his great tackling though.

Not sure he's the one we should go after. We have plenty of his type.

I love Poppy, but if it assists with picking up a talented youngster from GWS I could live with it.
Agreed - Poppy has been great for us but he can be easily moved on at present. If he can help gain us younger players who can be part of our next flag then let's pull the trigger.

Jake niall on fox tonight said his current offer is close to 600k and hes not likely to take it, must be some serious $$$ being thrown his way which makes me think pies not us.

I think I heard the Cats are into him but they seem to be into everyone right now. They're really sniffing for a flag but all it takes is one knock to Danger/Selwood and that house of cards will collapse on themselves.

**** Devon Smith not taking 600K because bigger offers are being thrown his way ? That's simply amazing.

Don't want Devon Smith, he's a good ball winner and pressure player inside 50, but probably the worst shot on goal there is in the comp.
You seen any of Will Langford's work in front of goal?

Agree though - Smith isn't anything better than we already have.

Poster on MB Rocky thread adamant Rocky stays. Seems believable which is a shame. I Love watching Rocky.

Rocky will stay. He has formed a very good relationship with Chris Fagan. If Leppitsch was still there, it would be 100% gone. He has also recently built a new house in Brisbane.

WHile I agree with this don't forget that Poppy makes GWS a MUCH BETTER team - at the moment they are a bunch of talented selfish arseholes who have no idea how to play for one another - Poppy is kind of the epitome of the four pillars that Clarkson has built and if he gets there and shows them how to go when its your turn and how to sacrifice your own game for the good of the team he might just see them get over the line to a flag

I'm happy with a medium fish to be honest. We gotta leave money to go after a gun key forward in the next couple of years via FA. I'd hate to be spending money on the likes of Casboult or Reid this year.
I don't think we will pour all our resources into one big fish. Clarko's gospel is that the team is more important than the individual, so bearing that in mind, and the fact that there is potential star quality in many of our kids, I think we would be factoring some value into looking after what we have, before splashing big on one individual

I really hope that Josh Kelly re-signs with GWS (Big Fish) so as to place other uncontracted players there to start looking elsewhere much the same way the Buddy, Tippet and Heeney contracts let players like Mitchell and Mummy slip to other clubs. Mid tier players as mentioned in previous post will do me fine.

Drums are getting louder about Smith and lever, perfect storm for mine.

I dunno if Lever is worth the crazy money being talked about. Dusty however, is. I still think at 1.2 he is worth it. The guy is elite.

I heard Clarkson on 3aw last week.. He did indeed say we weren't really in the frame for a big fish, but he also dwelled on how in this current competition, a superstar mid can lift a team above the pack. He used Dangerfield as an example and he was right.

Hopper, Lever, Smith, Kennedy... They are all young talents but they could also be the noxt JOR....

We know what we get with Dusty. Also Rockliff. Those two are priorities for me.
