Poppy in the block, Junior one or two years left, would think that a forward that can play pretty good mid is a good fit.
Langford, Rioli, Breust with Stewart and Miles for back up. That's enough, small forward is a role with a glut of much cheaper riches than Smith.
Gee wiz, Prestia. Glad that didn't work out, he makes Langford look like Silk.

Yeah never understood the love for Prestia on here by a few posters last trade period. A very average footballer who is quite limited really. Never saw much in him tbh.

For those into Dylan Shiel. Have seen Shiel (24 years) play live a few times now. Not sure he has a tank? Against the Roos recently in Hobart he looked like getting a million touches, then dropped away badly and had no impact. Has done this every game I have watched him play live. Not sure if the stats back this up or if I am judging him on too small a match sample?

That's sheep for you

Every year some poster bangs on enough about how good player X is & before you know it player X is an elite champion that some of us didn't even know existed

Is that to suggest that Clarko has to have his game plan approved by The Board (of Directors)?

Surely not?
Individual games, certainly not. But overall strategy, from player capabilities to on-field focus, almost certainly. Game strategy is the single most important decision the club makes. Almost certainly the board would have an annual presentation on the strategy and are duty bound to examine it. Does this mean they second-guess Clarkson? No. It means they question (ie, ask him to explain) why he makes the decisions he does, particularly when he's changing those decisions from previous approaches.

This year has seen quite a fundamental change in the way we play. It has seen us turn over our list to a massive degree. I would expect there are quite a few checkpoints and reviews with the board as we progress through this. It never hurts to have a set of smart eyes look at some decisions from different angles to make sure it's hitting the points.

I dunno if Lever is worth the crazy money being talked about. Dusty however, is. I still think at 1.2 he is worth it. The guy is elite.

I heard Clarkson on 3aw last week.. He did indeed say we weren't really in the frame for a big fish, but he also dwelled on how in this current competition, a superstar mid can lift a team above the pack. He used Dangerfield as an example and he was right.

Hopper, Lever, Smith, Kennedy... They are all young talents but they could also be the noxt JOR....

We know what we get with Dusty. Also Rockliff. Those two are priorities for me.

I'm amazed at the amount of posters that don't think he is worth it to be honest.

Hopper is a classic example.
He's played 16 games of AFL football
Phat has gone on & on about him like others have with Dusty.
16 games ffs
Now half our posters have hopped on Phat's Hopper train.
I guess I have some form... I have been on TOB before his "break out" season, Sicily as a half back flanker off the back of a couple of good performances, Witts last year was someone I mentioned & Watts as someone who could still be a good player.
In saying that I liked Litherland, Wattson (Carlton) & Gorringe... can't win them all.

Hopper will be a gun ;)

Although vastly improved has he done enough that you'd use the term " break out" ?
