I don't doubt petracca will become a very good player but I feel he is being a tad overrated. There were a number of times this year he could have stood up and didn't. Lacks a tank which will hopefully come. Still has a fair way to go.
his profile has him at 94 kg that might be part of the tank problem

He is absolutely overrated on output. But he has Dustin Martin-like potential. Whether he become a Martin or stays more of a Ziebel type remains unknown but he has that absolute high-end potential. If there was any chance, we would trade our 2018 first and a quality player for him.

hahahaha, can’t believe people actually entertain these ideas. There’s no way we’re getting Petracca. Y’all need to stop drooling over the allure of a big fish and focus on how we can make the TEAM better. Being ‘bold’ doesn’t mean recklessly going after every big name the club might get a sniff at.
Petracca is gonna be a star and MFC would know...not gonna happen...bring on 2018

I thought that was really smart from Adelaide to do some anchoring of what price they should expect.

And I also think Lever for Petracca would be a fair trade. Everyone seems to disagree with me and most trades don't go down this way. But Lever is an AA defender they're a similar age and Petracca still hasn't been able to move full time into the midfield, either because other players are better, he's more useful as a forward or he's not got the tank.

Lever is delivering, Petracca looks like he will get to Lever levels in a year or two, hopefully. The only thing that skews this is the fact that Petracca is contracted.

After I posted I wondered if someone would take offense. It's a weird world we live in now.

To be clear, I have greatly appreciated the contributions to Hawthorn by our indigenous players, and by Darren Jarman. So I tried to make a joke about how Jarman Impey might combine all of the above. Definitely no offense intended, to anyone.

If anyone is actually offended please let me know and I will delete the original comment.
As someone who gets mistakenly called a leftie here and is accused of virtue signalling - I find zero offense with what you said. Some of the Indigenous lads in the game are just beyond gifted so it's always exciting when a similarly talented prospect gets linked with us. I also get excited when we recruit left footers!

If a few posters on this forum are throwing names up and waxing lyrical about them, it doesn't mean the club are doing the same.

Petracca is nothing more than a pipe dream atm I agree, but even I can't resist fantasising about him playing for Hawthorn. He is a bull and he is 21. And full of the proverbial too. It would be amazing.

The only problem is that Petracca has a touch of the FIGJAM about him.

If you can knock that out of him, he'll be okay.

Petracca... this is wishful thinking.

We would be putting quite a bit to nab a young guy with such a high ceiling.

I would be happier with this scenario rather than my previously quashed # as Petracca has a much better forward capacity than Hopper with possibly more X factor in the midfield if he dropped a few Kg.

First born.. left nut.. ect
I'm all over this little snippet until is proven to not be happening.

Love the idea!!!
