There might be nothing wrong with it so long as that celebrity knows what he is doing. There wouldn't be too many that fit that bill for a football club.Bombers 2003 said:1-Is Emdur a carlton man?.But there is nothing wrong with a 'celebrity' as club president.
Percy hasn't thrown his hat in the ring as far as I know. Still I don't see what the difference is between Percy and Collo. Both ex-players, albeit with Percy having a higher profile. Take a look at other club presidents and tell me how many of those are ex-football stars and celebrities. I don't see why Carlton need to be any different particularly.2-On business 'nouce','Percy' Jones has considerable experience there.
Who was the president? Who has the ultimate say in the direction the club takes? At best, the past is not Collo's fault, at worst he has learned from previous mistakes. We are talking about today, not dwelling in last decade.3-When 'Collo'was a administrator at Carlton, the only 'youth policy'was to ignore the youth and go for big 'name'players at the expense of youth development. Many clubs have been ruined by a policy of chasing 'big names'and 'glory' for the sake of 'glory'.
