Thought he played well there today and i think another pre-season he will get the hang of the role.
Scary he is only 22. Not even close to his prime yet.

Really don't think his hands are that bad, really overplayed on this board. Better than half our current midfield. His greatest weakness is his agility below his knees, i.e running over the ball but I think he can improve on that. I don't think either watson or mundy were guns immediately in the midfield, am pretty sure they were given more than 5 games in the position. In fact Im pretty sure it took about 5 seasons in the midfield before mundy became the player he is now, to say there is no point trying because it isn't an instant success is rubbish. More importantly when we are not going to make the 8 and are clearly not good enough, it is the perfect time to experiment. Not like Darling is kicking bags and him not being forward isn't going to cost us games. Even if it is not a success might improve his agility next year when he plays forward againof course we can, he is terrible with his hands. mundy or watson aren't. you also trying to name 2 players out of thousands. i don't see the norm where KP players convert to midfield and pretty sure both of those showed those attributes first in training. i don't think they all just jumbled names around and went to 'see what happens'. well we see what darling in midfield results in.
no point 'trying' anything if its not going to work. you play with best with what you have. jumbling players around for hell of it only destabilises the team, makes players confused and they don't progress in areas that they are good at because they are forced to be something they aren't. only time our issues will be fixed are at end of season. its probably insulting to midfielders to suggest a player can just come in and do the job.

Needs to learn positioning where to run ...he tends to run around like he hasn't git a clue where to go,
I like his upside as a midfielder , time will tell
Needs to slim down, get out of the gym and running like Josh Kennedy did (swan jk)
It's a balance yesIf he slims down won't he just get buffeted off contests?
