He's probably the one player I go out of my way to check up on and yeah while he isn't elite, his talent can be optimised with our midfield. He has scored 7 goals this season which isn't anything incredible but that almost 2 goals a game and a player like that who is relatively cheap is invaluable on our side right now. I just hope the list managers at the Pies can see the same potential.
Yeah when I was going through the options (Patton etc) it's like nope too old, nope can't afford him, nope he won't leave etc.
But Bruce is in that sweet spot, not a star but could really play a role for us and we can probably afford him.
Sometimes Leigh Brown wins you a flag. ;)

If there wasn't such thing as a salary cap or trade costs, I'd love see that bloke in a Pies jumper. I just love watching him play footy. But alas, it would be a really stupid move to sink that much of the salary cap into a player at Buddy's stage of his career.

Did Shawry run into a tree again?
LOL.
My news feed on the phone had the headline "Sydney trade Lance "Buddy" Franklin to Collingwood in mid-season draft"

I thought...WTF!!!!!
IS this a thing now the mid season draft?
How the F do Collingwood afford a Franklin?

To be honest I would have had him before he signed with Sydney.
Too late now.
He brings too much baggage that our side does not want.
It would be about Buddy, his heritage and Collingwood's alleged history with indigenous players for the next 5 years.
**** the media let them manufacture their own lies.
Gillon et al can dig their own hole full of shit.

Brennan Cox – Fremantle

Games this year: Nil
Contract: 2020
Would suit: Collingwood

You only have to look at his match-winning four-goal performance in round 12 last season to realise that the South Australian has enormous upside. After playing mostly as a defender in his first season, the 20-year-old was swung into attack last year with immediate effect. However, the arrival of Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb has changed things and after playing his WAFL return from injury as a forward on April 6, Cox was back in defence last week. With Lynden Dunn's career in doubt and the Pies' tall stocks thin behind Mason Cox and Brody Mihocek, could the Pies ask the question?

I can't believe that Round 5 hasn't even begun and journos are already speculating about trade targets. And their not even articles with a rumour attached - there just "Jeez, this bloke isn't getting a game for them, maybe he'd get a game for that other mob."

Would be an excellent get. Should have drafted him instead of McLarty.

His first stop might be Adel/Port if he was looking to to leave but he'd cetainly fill a hole for us.

I'd find it really frustrating that he kept getting that close without cracking the ton.

But I think I'd be able to cope with that.
Just going with the average.

As an aside players so close to a ton in a season just missing out.

Daicos 97 in 1990
Longmire 98 in 1990

Ofcourse in 2008 Fevolenko you beauty (aka Brendan Fevola) was left stranded on 99 goals.
As he was Carlton, I got over it, very very very quickly.

I was there at Waverley the day he should've kicked his ton.
Kept kicking points, (kicked 2 goals 8 behinds) it was hilarious.
I was there too.

Can’t recall such yips from him before.

Bump

9 goals from our 3 tall hit up targets(Cox, Mihocek & De Goey).

Also to add to that, the 6 players named in the forwardline combined for 15 goals.

Nah. I love our group. I just wish I felt a bit more confidence that we had the distance covered when Stevo, Cox, Thomas, Brown and Elliott have the ball near the 50 metre arc.
I was joking, I just thinks Reid’s ability to kick goals from outside 50 is underrated.
